Has a public figure died with anywhere near this degree of grace and magnanimity in our lifetimes? The only other example that comes to mind is John Paul II. Simply inspirational.
The persistent and seductive appeal of discovery learning, despite its limitations and failures, reflects a mix of cognitive biases, ideological commitments, and cultural narratives rather than any strong empirical support.

"The roster size changed quite a bit in 60-plus years. What didn’t change was the large ‘Hampton’ script across the chest."

“They played a final football game in Hampton on Friday night. A town that raised many, some of us right on the football field down on Fifth Street.”
Our @tony_chapman76’s trip to see the final home game for @HamptonHawksFB.

Here is a shot from last night's halftime ceremony, courtesy of Buller Arial Photography LLC.
Each row represents a different decade, from the 60s in the front to our current team in the back.
Every Hampton team from 1963 to 2025 is represented in this photo. #FinalFlight
This #ThrowbackThursday, on the occasion of the final home game for Hampton Football tomorrow, we would like to take a moment to look back at the program's history by decade. #FinalFlight
Parents to the travel coach who is not certified in any way and has zero credentials “they are so good with them they know so much!!”
Parents to the coach who is actually licensed and went to school
In order to coach “he doesn’t know what he’s doing!!!”
@JamesAFurey Would you follow me for a bit so I could DM you? I’m a principal at a small school in Nebraska and I’d like to pick your brain on a couple things. Thanks in advance. (Sorry, I don’t pay so I don’t have the checkmark!)
“The first girl I ever saw that could do a fadeaway jump shot in basketball. I was watching the STATE TOURNAMENT recruiting her….. and I am thinking, man, this is an athlete.”
We could break Twitter about club volleyball and the decline of girls basketball participation. Let’s not. Let’s get coaches who create great experiences for kids who WANT to do basketball.
Because one thing I feel good about is this — if you are good enough to play a coach will find you.
He might even come to the state basketball tournament to watch you play.
It's Crossroads Conference Tournament Week, the greatest Conference Tournament on the planet. It's also City Auditorium Week. Post your pictures of your local City Auditorium. This is the one in York. #nebpreps
Two years ago I had the opportunity to speak at the @NebraskaCoach Football Clinic about building a culture in a high school football program. It allowed me to reflect on lessons I've learned from my 18 years as a head coach.
I’ve turned that clinic presentation into a book, “Culture: The Fourth Phase of Football”.
The book is not a one-size-fits-all guide but a resource for coaches looking for ideas and strategies to adapt and apply in their programs. It emphasizes creating an environment where players are motivated, accountable, and committed to achieving team goals.
My hope, as it is with the players I work with every day, is that I can give you the tools to be successful and help you reach your goals. That is why I coach and that is why I wrote this book.
The book is now available on Amazon in both paperback and on Kindle.

As an athletic director who doubles as a basketball official, I have decided to take an educational approach this winter. I’m attaching a commonly misunderstood rules of b-ball sheet to our programs in hopes that fans won’t blurt out “rules” about b-ball that aren’t accurate! 😁
