Recently stumbled across this group Toronto Car People on Facebook.
It’s wild stuff, they claim to be for motorists’ rights but I don’t think anyone in the group has been road tested in the last decade. It’s bad takes all the way down.
Spring is truly in the air in Toronto and patios are starting to open up!
Don’t mind the Toronto Car People waking up from hibernation to boycott businesses they’ve never patronized.
Imagine if these people ever faced real adversity. #cafeto
Every Toronto Car People post is some variation of “We should kill cyclists. Haha just kidding, triggered much? But also I really do want to murder cyclists with my car.”
@BEEPBEEPImACar Sure seems like being unable to follow a median would endanger other drivers. Maybe even impede emergency vehicles?
If only there were a group that actually cared about drivers and not just shitting on pedestrians.
Classic Toronto Car People content:
1. Photo is from Orlando, 2017.
2. The fleet is Eversource’s, it includes EVs.
3. ES recently settled a suit over using deceptive tactics to push natural gas.
Every time you see “Canada” and “proud” gut check it isn’t an oil lobbyist.
@BEEPBEEPImACar @traffic_moving This one is my favourite.
Taking a photo by hand.
On a dark street at night.
Without headlights on.
While tailing a cyclist.
@traffic_moving And you realize that creating a society where pedestrians need to live in high-attention fear is why you’re going to see more and more restriction on driving, yeah?
Bonus: your group is full of people driving while taking video on their phones.
Where was I going with this?
Well I don’t think Elmer’s tips are a hot or even necessary take. When we talk about the dangers associated with cars they aren’t anything covered by Elmer.
The first time I was hit as a kid was when I was in a parked car. Thanks Elmer.
He also ran for city council but thankfully failed miserably.
And like the other mods of Toronto Car People is well-known as a pest in the community. Ask him how he likes spit sandwiches.
