City of Stockbridge
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Statement from Legal Counsel for Mayor Jayden Williams
The City of Stockbridge's recent public statement and continued social media postings regarding its ongoing investigation of Mayor Jayden Williams are deeply concerning. While acknowledging that no findings have been made, the City has chosen to publicly repeat unproven allegations, undermining the integrity of the investigative process.
Let us be clear: allegations are not evidence, and they are not findings of wrongdoing.
We reject any attempt to influence public opinion through the publication of unsubstantiated accusations before the investigation is complete.
The City's own statement acknowledges that the allegations should not be interpreted as findings of fact. That principle should have been reflected in its public communications from the beginning and should continue until the legal process is concluded. We look forward to addressing these matters in Court.

Georgia deserves a leader that understands the reason for the protests.
This protest was about police brutality. Show the entire protest all 4 1/2 hours.

Yesterday, we celebrated Juneteenth—the day that marked freedom for the last remaining enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas. We also reflected on the significance of General Sherman's Field Order No. 15, issued in Savannah, Georgia, a historic promise that helped shape the ongoing struggle for justice and equality in America.
Thank you to the Camden County NAACP for hosting a wonderful celebration of freedom, history, and community.

Black Truck Driver to Sue After NC Cop Assaults him at Courthouse
NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, NC -
Attorneys for Don D. Long II, the 39 year-old Black man who suffered
permanent eye damage and vision impairment after being needlessly assaulted by a deputy with the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, released video of the assault where Deputy Gregory Colson sprayed pepper spray directly to his eyes at close range after Long simply inquired whether he could
enter a courtroom at the Northampton County Courthouse.
In addition to releasing the videos, Long’s attorneys have filed notice with Sheriff Jack Smith, Northampton County Manager Julian Phillips and other county officials that they intend to file a lawsuit over the unlawful use of force.
All roads lead through the South.
All roads lead to Montgomery today.
My great-great-great-grandfather, Eli Washington, was born enslaved. He didn’t survive slavery, walk off that plantation, and suit up to fight in the Civil War for me to cower in this moment.
We come from fighters.
We come from freedom dreams.
And the South still got something to say.

@FoxNews, you left something out about our rally… it was peaceful. We didn’t violate the law and we were effective because you all are talking about me and my drummer friend. #GAPol#SandySprings#NoKings
Surreal moment tonight: my Sandy Springs No Kings reel was featured on Rachel Maddow. Local action matters. Show up. Speak out. Keep going. #gapol#nokings#voteblue#msnow#rachelmaddow
Tuskegee University men’s basketball head coach Benjy Taylor has filed a federal civil action seeking in excess of $1 million in damages against Morehouse College and two of its campus police officers. The complaint arises from an incident that occurred during the post-game handshake following a matchup between the teams.
According to the filing, Taylor—who was not charged with any criminal offense—alleges that he was handcuffed by Morehouse campus officers and escorted off the court at Forbes Arena on January 31 in a manner he contends was excessive and unwarranted.
The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, further asserts that Taylor has suffered physical injury, emotional distress, and financial harm as a result of the incident.

Six years ago, I took my daughter and my niece to a rally for #BreonnaTaylor.
Not because they fully understood the politics…
but because I wanted them to understand the principle.
I wanted them to see something that too often goes unseen — a Black man who looks like them standing up and fighting for them.
Our daughters deserve to know that their fathers, uncles, and brothers will speak up, show up, and fight for them.
Because when Black men protect Black women,
we protect the future. That’s what community looks like.
