I’m currently in lockdown in the House chamber as the President of the United States incites his supporters to violence and to storm the Capitol. This is the outcome of Trump’s presidency.
Lynching postcards were a regular thing in the U.S. until at least 1908. White families in their Sunday best, including children, would be photographed next to lynched Black folks. Then they’d make it into a postcard and send it to a friend.
@jefftimmer@MichelleKinney In 1968 when I was 11years old I remember on election night listening to Hubert Humphrey speaking to his supporters telling them he had called Richard Nixon and sent a telegram as well expressing his congratulation for winning the election. Trump has certainly changed things.
Maybe it’s just me, but I am of the belief that millions of people who really need help and not getting it is a MUCH more serious problem than the possibility that some people making less than $100k get a check others think they don’t “need”
If Pence pardons Trump he’ll become the biggest buffoon in US history. He’d be ridiculed for being a temporary president, filling in for fewer days than a @Scaramucci just to pardon a traitor.
