Emergency Management continues to monitor Edisto River levels. According to the @NWSCharlestonSC, the river is expected to crest at 15.9 feet (near Givhans Ferry) over the weekend.
Those in the area should monitor water levels & prepare to relocate to higher ground if needed.
Due to erosion caused by this week’s heavy rainfall, a stretch of the Glenn McConnell Parkway shared-use path (between Lowes and Essex Farms) is temporarily closed.
Repairs are scheduled to begin next week.
UPDATE: CCSO Deputies are going door-to-door in the Parker’s Ferry area to warn residents of the potential flood risks from the Edisto River as #TropicalStormDebby heads our way again.
Between our efforts and a reverse 911 call, approx. 3,000 residents were reached.

Excited that this may pass this session. As adoptive parents I'll tell you that the process can and should be streamlined and that this is a solid step in the right direction. Many thanks @SenatorShealy and @murrellsmith for pushing this.
