@koenfucius@page_eco @kubitzg1 For what its worth, I think the work of Arthur Robson should get more attention/recognition in behavioral economics. Some groundbreaking stuff and great to see more high profile work on the evolution of preferences.
One week to go until our workshop on 'financial empowerment in deprived areas'. A great line up of speakers and guests. Looking forward to a great discussion of some complex and difficult issues. Still spaces available.

Why, as a major ransomware attack impacts the NHS, are fraud and computer misuse in the small print??? This downplaying of fraud and computer misuse needs to stop.
@LeicsCares@THINKFCCIC@LLEPnews@localitynews If we want to revitalise town centres then we have to lower the cost to businesses and visitors. One mentions parking. Business rates a big issue. If we put town centres on a level playing field with out of town shopping then I think they would stand a chance.
"If you left out computer crime and fraud, we've halved crime" Penny Mordant
I know the question was on knife crime, but we mustn't ignore fraud, scams & computer crime! They're NOT some form of lesser victimless crime.
They destroy people's financial life, self-esteem, & devastate mental health. They leave people at risk in their own homes, scared to engage in our economy, damage businesses. They can see hospital closed down and operations stopped. #BBCdebate
@ProfJSDavies @DrBenWhitham Farage can very close in Thanet last time and that was with a lot of people holding their nose to vote Conservative in panic. This time around people are not going to vote Conservative to keep out Farage. I think he will win easy.
@ho_ben@florianederer Yes, but some of them are. And that example was quoted as the first thing that raised suspicion. Copying from a student thesis and not citing is not a good look. It fits the model of things a dishonest person thinks they can get away with.
@HumanRiskLtd @Will_Humphrey Agree. Presumably on that logic we are also supposed to infer that training male economists is more valuable than female economists. Unintelligent’ is being kind.
Great work from my colleagues @bbcemt covering the ongoing Inc ransomware attack on Leicester City Council. Crazy that these huge criminal hacks affecting thousands of citizens are now a part of modern life.
Very interesting article.
Turning a blind eye to worker exploitation is obviously not defensible. But better opportunities needed to be provided to affected workers when factories close.
Failure of policy.
📰 Did crying modern slavery in Leicester benefit the workers?
Without alternatives or safety nets to fall back on, closures of fast-fashion factories left workers worse off

@LeicsCares@Neal_Compass Well they are not listening to them. I think that lack of engagement puts young people off voting and the cycle repeats. Politicians have an obligation to represent ALL of their constituents and so surely it is their responsibility to talk more to young people.
Lets hope the new football regulator has some teeth because this is getting ridiculous now. A complete overhaul of football financing is needed.
(And if that means we have to put up with Man City not winning the champions league every year then I think we will cope!)
The amount of clubs that are supposedly having to sell prized assets in the summer to comply with P&S rules is staggering. And the only clubs who can pick these players off???? Yes that’s right the ones who are beyond the reach of these rules now as they grew way before these rules came in… funny that
