You call this a fascinating and nuanced piece without even commenting on the deeper meaning of what Josh Simons is doing right by his side.

How can you expect Burnham to attract left wing voters while you completely ignore the context that Simons literally handed over a safe Labour seat to engineer this entire move and he is by his side every step of the way.

Why do all of you journalists completely ignore the fact that Simons was a key figure in Labour Together and used every mechanism to defame your own colleagues by paying £30k to a PR firm?!?

You treat this as a natural rise of Burnham as a progressive politician when all his statements over the last month prove he no longer represents the left at all.

Where Josh Simons is involved there is absolutely no left wing Labour Party left and your media silence covers up a ruthless backroom coup.

This is because Starmer made powerful enemies the exact moment he distanced himself from Labour Together last year and they used their massive financial influence to destroy his government from the shadows.

You are both acting like naive court jesters analysing party unity when you know perfectly well that British politics is being run by unelected groups behind closed doors.

We know Pippa that you at least are not naive and that it is no accident you are all ignoring this because Josh Simons from Labour Together or Blue Labour (which can never go together with left wingers from the Labour Party because they are enemies to each other) has suddenly gone into a zone of complete invisibility for everyone in the media and we must ask what exactly happened there.
