A few suggestions would be:
-Add sans-serif font-family from Google
-Center title
-Explore a different blue color / font colors
-Play with box shadow effect (see if you like it)
-Add a hover effect for bottom "Step #" / circles
-Explore mobile responsiveness

@CodeWithBen1@TheSecretJunio1 definitely recommend doing a wp theme. As others have said its easy to set up and maintain from your friend's end. So you won't have to keep up on the maintenance and build everything from the ground up.
If you're struggling to think of something to build for practice or a project:
1. Pick a random bookmark in your browser.
2. Recreate that page.
3. Or pick a part that you don't know how to build.
4. Research & build it. Slowly but surely.
5. Repeat.
@elyktrix Definitely! Personally, I feel like if you're trying to make a portfolio project or practice. The best place to get an idea is to make one that already exists. As your there to show skill and learn along the way. Not re-inventing the wheel.
