@wildcat2013 Can I ask how you know that northernman is the CEO? What is the proof linking him to this account? He's been a basher on a company I am invested in while not having any shares and he's been bashing for years. This is a strange behavior for somebody with no position
@TommyThornton Question is what will be the marginal advantage of such tech ( lidar and radar) in 6 months, 12 months, 2 years, etc). At the point where it tend to near zero, then the moat they will have on cost per mile will be paramount
@TommyThornton Point being that the absolute and only way to state the technological approach based on cameras only and neural network is to establish without any doubts what will be the future limit of the approach. Clearly adding lidar and radar adds security ( for now).
@TommyThornton Well you can make that argument. In what way would it differ from experts saying after the second crash of the Space x Rocket that it would never work in the future? I mean, to achieve any goals you need multiple tries and iteration to see what needs to get enhanced and corrected
@TommyThornton Well, I guess your thesis is based on your assumption being true which implies you are seeing and understanding better the Musk the limit of the tech. Up to now, let's say he accumulates a few successes (more then failures).
@TommyThornton The absolute only way Waymo wins is that Tesla never achieves level 4 with their neural network. However the trend is clear, their fsd is getting better and better with each new version and each miles run by their cars. Consodering this, what is the only conclusion?
@TommyThornton There are 2 important parameters to consider. What is the point where robotaxi will be enabled by Tesla. ( the milestone being when their cars will be SAE 4). The second one is the capacity to scale once milestone is achieved.
