For me it's the opposite: simple carbs make me tired and lethargic and bloated
A big misconception is that only starches like rice, bread and potatoes are carbs
But vegetables and fruit ARE carbs too! Berries are carbs! A banana is carbs! Brussels sprouts are carbs! But they're even better carbs called complex carbs
You can literally just skip simple carbs (like white rice, regular bread and poatoes) and only eat complex carbs and you'll feel better because you'll have more stable energy levels with less blood sugar spikes, reduced risk of diabetes, heart disease
Combine that with protein from good meat and you have most nutrients covered!
If the problem is not solveable with 20 hours of focused, real work:
- Maybe your diagnosis is wrong
- It's not a one-time effort but system issue
- It is not solveable (try outgrowing or accepting it, or do whatever you want it's your life)
You make the most money when you operate as if you already have a lot of it. However you think you'd be moving if you were rich, just move that way today
Starting your own business? The poor version of you needs everything to be guaranteed. No you can't give away product without a partnership agreement in place. No you can't perform a service without getting paid upfront first. Wait what if these actions lead to nothing
The wealthy version of you doesn't care. You're already free so you don't need things to work out the way you want in the time you want. You hand out value because doing so will simply get your name out there. You identify someone who would benefit from your help so you just help them because you can
Then a couple months later you're flooded with introductions, customers, clients, etc. Some were the product of a referral from one person you told "it's cool we'll figure out the payment details later let's just get this across the finish line." Others were the result of someone messaging you "hey love your stuff, do you do any consulting?" and then it turned into a insanely lucrative offer
None of which would've happened had you optimized for narrow outcomes instead of energetic momentum. Being light on your feet, putting yourself out there, doing things for the sake of doing things, having "nothing to lose" if you fail because your cup of perceived security is perpetually overflowing
Easiest way to understand the whole manifestation concept. Not some fantasy of imagining things and having them appear out of thin air. But rather embodying a certain frequency of spiritual abundance, and allowing this to shape your physical actions. The same actions that prosperity create are the same actions that create the prosperity
I keep thinking about this one tweet I saw about parents who treated every inconvenience like a tragedy and how it basically conditioned their kids into believing that life was way harder than it actually is
Two people could come from similar socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, generations, etc. but showcase completely different levels of emotional fragility because of this
One person gets hit with an unexpected bill, accidentally breaks something, etc. Actually ends up debilitating them for a good portion of the day. Another person gets pummeled by a string of consecutive L's and ultimately laughs about reality being the greatest comedy
Just because as kids they didn't have the agency yet to question their inputs and had to make sense of them at face value. All they could do was see their mom freak out over forgetting to put the food in the fridge overnight and think "all mistake bad and scary" or see their dad calmly navigate through a recession and think "sometimes bad thing happen but never need to worry"
Honestly made a huge impact on me because it not only started making me hyper aware of my own knee jerk reactions, but also allowed me to better understand how other people act. Like no you're not being punished. You don't have to be exhausted all the time. Your family just oneshotted you but the good thing is you have the power to break the generational curse. Please believe in yourself
Everything is a matter of perception and your perception can be fully controlled. Life is truly only as hard as you believe it is. Catch yourself being dramatic, just take a step back and ask yourself why. Realize you were fed beliefs that you didn't ask for. Forgive the past, accept the present, and commit to the process of replacing those beliefs with new ones. Before you know it, you stop reacting in the way you once did and change not only your life but everyone who comes in contact with you from here on out
Easy way to tell if you're turning into a loser is if chillness starts to surprise you. Friends of varying religions, races, etc watching sports and hanging out. Guy has different political beliefs but his boys just bust his balls a little and everyone ends up laughing about it
Oh you voted for this and you spend your time like that haha alright anyways wanna grab dinner later. Should be the other way around where online dynamics are what surprise you. Wait telling people to off themselves just because they don't agree with you might actually be completely psychotic
Immediate sign that you're living in the wrong world. Get outside and take yourself less seriously. Nobody cares about your little ideologies and perceptions. Have a drink, watch Mbappe cook, and enjoy the beautiful brevity of life
My personal self employment non negotiables
I have to be able to do everything on my phone, where 100% of my "work" can be fulfilled by pressing buttons on it, speaking into it, or a combination of both
I have to be geographically unrestricted. I can research, write, send, and yap anywhere, anytime, whether I'm in my home office, on bench in the park, at a table outside of a coffee shop, or during a walk
If I decide to use a laptop or hole myself somewhere for any reason, it'd be the product of intentional choice rather than obligatory necessity. Remove either of those two qualities, and sacrificing the benefit of a biweekly direct deposit no longer becomes worth it
In the face of any career decision, lifestyle is always the most important matter. My wellbeing always comes first. The happier, healthier, and freer I'm able to feel, the happier, healthier, and freer my family, friends, and anyone around me also naturally become
This makes manifestation so much easier to understand. Simply feed your subconscious with your beliefs of choice, then quite literally sit back and relax
"I am the luckiest person in the world, wealth comes to me effortlessly, [insert whatever other beliefs you want]." Structure it in the present tense to tell your subconscious, "This is already the truth"
Because your subconscious is designed to never question the information it receives and always take everything you tell it at face value, it now has to ensure that your physical reality actually aligns with the truth
One way it does that is by what's described below. Those random "lightbulb moments" that pop into your head or "omg, this is it" ideas you get in the shower. You didn't actively think them, but they also didn't just come out of nowhere
It was simply the result of the command you gave to your subconscious. "This is the truth of who I am. Take the information, and use it to make me see situations, approach challenges, and synthesize experiences in new ways that align with the truth of who I am"
Actually life changing stuff. As long as you carry the right beliefs and are genuinely convicted in those beliefs, you just have to trust that your subconscious will take care of and guide you accordingly. All you have to do is keep moving forward, putting yourself out there, exposing yourself to new opportunities, and be ready to act when the inspiration strikes
This is easy to prove. Just observe everyone. High achievers who always seem on edge. High achievers who look like they have a permanent vacation glow. People living simple lives who are constantly stuck in doom spirals. People living simple lives who are laughing on the beach
Take any person, assign them any combination of haves and have nots, and you won’t be able to identify a specific set of characteristics or circumstances that guarantee happiness
It’s all a personal choice at the end of the day that both starts and ends in the mind. The happiness is already there within you, you just have to decide what you want to believe
every story you tell yourself about yourself, from who you are as an individual to where you are heading, what your aspirations are, and what you want to achieve, is exactly what you become in the end. takes a decade or a few to have it click and start to make sense
every 3 to 6 months have a 1on1 conversation with yourself and see where things are going
being 100% transparent and honest. auditing the most important aspects of your life from relationships, money making, to your love life
comparing where you are now vs where you want to be
the only productivity system you will ever need
cold turkey extension for your browser + multiple pomodoro type sessions + knowing your chronotype + pen and paper to write down everything you are doing
game changer once you try and experiment a bit with it
everything you need to know about how to start using compounding as an unfair advantage over others
"slow progress" + regular audits (honesty required) + focus on a single area of your life > casino culture type thinking (treating everything as a jackpot and lottery ticket)
Staying with a Spanish family in a big house for a few days confirmed tons of stereotypes about the Spanish / Mediterranean
The parents are 85 and both are in incredible health. The grandfather woke up and immediately went outside to garden, spend time in the yard, and be active. Jumped in the pool halfway through and started swimming laps. Spent 2 hours hammering almond shells under the olive tree. Grandmother cooked, knitted, and did housework most of the day. On her feet most of the day
The 2 kids (9 and 4) also spent the entire day outside running around, in the sun, pool, trampoline, grass, sports, etc.
The TV and couch were not used once. Phones were rarely used
Indoor / outdoor lifestyle heavily embraced. Doors and windows open all day, and most of the day was centered around being outdoors.
Very light breakfast
Huge lunch at ~3 o clock. Tons of food and wine
Followed by siesta
Then tapas, more drinks, and tons of laughs from 11pm-1am. Light dinner so you sleep well despite eating late
Sun doesn't set until 10 right now so there's tons of daylight
Alcohol every single day. Rarely hard alcohol though, mainly wine, beer, or some type of aperitif. Some cigs as well
Every meal was cooked in olive oil. No others oils in the house. There was a finishing olive oil, cooking olive oil, and frying olive oil. Every chip, cracker, and other type of "processed food" had olive oil and not seed oils (other than a few grocery store sauces I noticed were using sunflower oil)
Most ingredients for the meal were bought fresh that day. Stopped by the bakery for fresh bread. Stopped by the fruit stand in town for some cherries and peaches. Local cheese market for a huge spread of cheese. All the olive oil was obvioulsy local too
Incredible community and family orientation. The bigger the table the better. Friends and others always invited and brought in
About 5+ hours a day spent at the table eating with others
