Kaspa's kHeavyHash mining algorithm traces back to a 2019 optical proof-of-work paper

#Kaspa was built to be mined on light-based chips that do not exist yet. Its proof-of-work algorithm, kHeavyHash, comes from a 2019 arXiv paper called Optical Proof of Work, whose authors wanted mining cost to sit in hardware rather than electricity.

The design places a matrix multiplication step, a block of arithmetic run across a grid of numbers, between two Keccak-family hashes from the SHA-3 standard. That middle step is the part meant to run on photonic chips.

In practice, kaspa:native hashrate comes from conventional ASICs. IceRiver shipped the first kHeavyHash machines in 2023 and Bitmain followed with its KS series, pushing GPUs out of contention. The optical hardware that the design anticipated has yet to reach Kaspa mining.

The dev is basically saying. Lets just try to ride off of Kaspa hype for our project imagine what that would do for our project.

Higher price for zkas price would result in higher kaspa hashrate. TRUE

BUT

Did you consider this. Your project launching with merge mining with Kaspa ASICs means it can be CAPTURED by ASIC miners very quickly.

Why do you think Kaspa emission scheldule was so fast? It was to DELAY ASICs from taking up all the supply. Your supply will be fully emitted in 2 YEARS with a guaranteed tail emission for eternity and you are launching with ASIC mining at the start.

Your merge mining feature was not thoughtfully considered. You took my suggestion from a few months back and instantly adopted it to your project with no serious thought into the risks of doing so.

Your project would of been a brand new algo.

Your methods about going about sharing this project have not come off as professional. So I will say this one last time to everyone reading be careful. For me all I see is red flags all around.

You see its things like this as to why this zkas fork is bad news.

Adding tail emission alone DOES NOT = solving Kaspa security. But yet this fork is convincing Kaspians of this.

Please how many forks have we seen in kaspa:native? Please tell me how many have survived.

I have openly called out each one to stay away from and like clock work you can no longer find any info on them cause they are gone.

If you are falling for kaspa:native forks you are falling into a very deep misunderstanding of Kaspa. Don't be fooled.

@PoW_Odie Kaspa's capacity on the volume of transactions is to fix that, not tail emissions.

Tail emissions, if not agreed at the exact beginning, it's a betrayal. Because it's inflation that was not seem and that is exactly the issue with fiat.
