FACT CHECK: Kevin Hassett made two claims about the economy on Fox News.

One is false. The other isn't supported by the data.

Hassett said core PCE inflation was negative in June.

It wasn't.

Headline PCE fell 0.1%.

Core PCE rose 0.1% and was 3.3% higher than a year earlier.

Then Hassett said blue-collar wage growth is “through the roof.”

BLS's broad measure of production and nonsupervisory workers tells a rather different story:

July wage increase: 4 cents an hour.

BLS description: “little changed.”

Private-sector wages rose 3.1% over the year through June.

Adjusted for inflation: -0.4%.

The inflation claim is wrong.

The wage boom requires considerably more imagination than the data provide.

Massachusetts GOP Lt. Gov candidate Anne Manning Martin got disqualified from the primary ballot for signature fraud. Her signature-gatherer, Joe Bronske, allegedly pulled a list from the state GOP’s own voter database to forge hundreds of signatures — some belonging to dead people.

When deposed, he pled the Fifth. Repeatedly.

The commission tossed 1,279 of her 10,692 signatures. She needed 10,000 to qualify. She’s appealing.

The party that screams “election integrity” 24/7 can’t even get its own candidate on the ballot without forging signatures.

BREAKING: Donald Trump has quietly admitted defeat and privately signalling he's willing to end the Iran war without a nuclear deal if the Strait of Hormuz simply opens, a humiliating retreat from his demand for "unconditional surrender," per WSJ.

Trump privately told aides he would declare victory based on reopening the Strait — a far cry from his promises to "decimate" Iran's nuclear program. But Iran just raised the price of that exit: $300 billion** in compensation, **$100–123 billion in frozen assets, U.S. troop withdrawal, and an end to the naval blockade.

Trump wanted out. Iran is making him pay for it.

U.S. officials say Trump sees the Strait as his only viable exit. But Iran's new demands mean even that is now in doubt. Tehran knows Washington is desperate to leave — and is holding the waterway hostage until Trump surrenders on every point.

Recognizing his weakness, desperation, incompetence, and stunning lack of any strategic coherence, Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly rejected Trump's 15-point Gaza peace plan. Netanyahu has made clear that the Israeli military will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas is fully and verifiably disarmed.

Trump has already lost the war of choice he initiated against Iran and now holds no meaningful cards left to play. To call this an unmitigated disaster of epic proportion is an understatement.
