@FandangoStream Your app is completely broken! Couldn't watch on my mobile device or my TV because the tile was just stuck saying it was upcoming. Terrible. What were @DFL_Official and @Bundesliga_EN thinking by switching? Now US fans won't be able to watch matches. 🤬
The Lindsay Clancy case has exposed something I find deeply disturbing about the way people talk about women, mental illness, and responsibility.
Three children were strangled to death by their mother, and somehow a significant number of women have managed to make her the emotional center of the story.
My position on insanity is pretty simple. I do not think insanity fundamentally changes the public safety question.
If you are capable of murdering three children because you are psychotic, you are dangerous.
If you are capable of murdering three children while completely sane, you are dangerous.
The mechanism may be different. The social consequence should not be.
Mental illness can explain behavior. It does not erase the behavior, resurrect the victims, or eliminate the danger that person has demonstrated.
Explanation is not exoneration.
For clarity, I am not in favor of the death penalty for anyone. That is a separate moral philosophy of mine. But I absolutely believe that people who demonstrate that they are profoundly unsafe for a functioning society should be removed from it.
And this was not simply someone impulsively snapping. There was organization and forethought surrounding what happened. Methodical, sustained planning is not a hallmark of an acute psychotic break. Planning alone does not rule out psychosis, but organized behavior, concealment, forethought, and apparent awareness of consequences are all highly relevant when evaluating the claim that someone had completely lost contact with reality. Lindsay displayed all of these.
You do not get to wave all of that away by saying “postpartum.”
And the hormone argument is even worse.
Hormones can influence mood, arousal, anxiety, aggression, sexual motivation, and cognition, often through the lens of preexisting beliefs. But influence is not compulsion. Hormones do not mechanically force people to murder.
If you genuinely believe they do, apply that logic consistently.
A man with high testosterone has biological influences affecting sexual motivation, dominance, and aggression. If he rapes or assaults someone, are you going to say his hormones made him do it?
Of course you fucking aren’t.
And you shouldn’t.
Because biological influence does not eliminate agency.
You cannot demand that women be treated as fully autonomous adults while simultaneously resurrecting the oldest argument imaginable about female biology making us irrational and incapable of controlling ourselves whenever accountability becomes uncomfortable.
And stop conflating postpartum depression with postpartum psychosis.
They are not the same thing.
Women experience postpartum depression every day without murdering their children. Using a woman who strangled all three of hers as some kind of martyr for ordinary women struggling postpartum is not compassionate advocacy. It is unbelievably poorly thought out.
If anything, you are giving vulnerable women another reason not to seek help. Imagine being scared to admit you are depressed, anxious, having intrusive thoughts, or struggling after birth because social media has rhetorically bundled ordinary postpartum mental health problems together with women murdering their babies.
Brilliant advocacy🤡
What disturbs me most is how quickly people can look at three dead children and start constructing a rationale for the adult who killed them. If that is your immediate moral instinct, something is seriously wrong with your priorities and mindset. Seek help yourself. Now.
You can advocate for better maternal mental health care. Please do.
But that does not require turning the person who brutally killed three children into a martyr.
Whether someone is criminally malicious or catastrophically insane, if they have demonstrated that they are profoundly unsafe for other human beings, society has every right to protect itself from them.
And let’s remember, the children should be the center of this story.
Not the woman who killed them.
@WallStreetApes I've always boycotted Walmart and always will. They also go to food manufacturers and ask them to put fillers and cheap crap in the products for Walmart to sell so they can sell them for less. It's disgusting how they've ruined local economies.
My wife is a nurse. She was pregnant during the pandemic. Her best friend is also nurse and she too was pregnant during the pandemic. She and her husband had been trying for a long time and this was their first.
They were both well into their pregnancies when the hospital that they work for started mandating full time employees get vaccinated. The hospital was pushing the vaccine so hard and the rhetoric was so crazy that they were both worried if it would even deliver their babies if they were not vaccinated. That's how scared they made people.
My wife and I decided immediately that there was no chance she was getting vaccinated while carrying our baby. She was only a couple months from giving birth so she tried to stall. She filed for an exemption, it was denied. She used whatever PTO she had. Then she quit full time and went part time. She made it through and gave birth to our beautiful, healthy, love of my life baby boy, vaccine free.
My wife's friend was just a couple months away from giving birth when she succumbed to the pressure to get vaccinated. She and her husband had already set up their daughter's room. They named her Penelope.
She was full term when she started having stomach pains. She thought she was in labor so she went to the hospital. The doctor told her that her baby was no longer alive. They induced labor and she delivered a dead little girl. Afterwards the doctor told her that a blood clot caused the death of her baby.
When my wife's friend sees our son she still gets emotional because her daughter would have been the same age as him. It breaks our hearts to see her still so heartbroken. What happened during the pandemic was just pure evil.
My season ticket for @SoundersFC is over $600 per seat - and I'm in one of the lowest priced tiers! Sports in the US are grossly overpriced. Could learn a lot from the Bundesliga.
Cheapest season tickets for adult fans in the Bundesliga in 2026/27. Bayern have the second cheapest season ticket in the league after Hoffenheim [@Transfermarkt]
🚨 Anthony Fauci literally wrote in his diary Covid was only a 0.2% fatality rate
Anthony Fauci is confronted over writing in his diary that Covid 19 was essentially just the flu but then and locked down for a global pandemic and mandated vaccines
“Dr. Fauci, you admitted in your own diary that COVID was nothing more than a flu — Are you ever going to admit that you killed millions of people through your poison shots? — When are you going to take responsibility for your mishandling of COVID Dr. Fauci?“
Here is exactly what was written in Anthony Fauci’s diary
“acting like a bad influenza in its transmissibility”
“and that the case fatality rate was “more like 0.2-0.3% rather than 2.0%.”
It’s time to arrest Anthony Fauci for crimes against humanity
He literally wrote that Covid only had a 0.2% fatally rate and then tried everything possible to force everyone to get these experimental dangerous vaccines
Never forget the American who looked Fauci in the eye, refused the COVID vaccine, and called him out on camera.
Still one of the ballsiest moments of the entire pandemic.
Siempre.
Just rewatched the scenes after the final whistle. This Argentina team showed the entire world what they really are today. A bunch of thugs with little to no dignity. Some of these players really shouldn’t be on a football pitch.
Arizona State University @ASU is in court fighting 89 year old Robert Young to take the home he's owned since 1975 for their "green space." I'm calling on ASU's President, @michaelcrow to reach out to me ASAP. This is not ok. We must defend this man.
