Can't get it out of my head that Europe cried about a 'migrant crisis' in 2015 against 1.4m refugees fleeing war in Syria and yet quickly absorbed some 2m Ukrainians within days, complete with flags and piano music.
Europe never had a migrant crisis. It has a racism crisis.
And generally, police will release select clips of body cam footage when they believe it corroborates their story. They release these clips well before the culmination of the investigation.
If you're looking at Minneapolis Twitter & need a reminder:
- No reforms were implemented after George Floyd's murder
- The police were never defunded
- No bodycam footage was released in Winston Smith case
- Roughly 200 MPD filed for disability bc they didn't want to change
This whole thread is important, but especially this one. We as a field still have way too many people who uplift “neutrality” and both side-isms. And that’s not even accounting for the straight out white supremacists. We cannot assume all children will have a “magical” librarian.

I don't know who needs to hear this but you don’t have to give up your skinny jeans if you don’t want to. What’s in and what’s out is all a ploy to keep us all buying things until the planet is dead.
The picketers are members of AFSCME Local 34 and @AFSCME Local 2822 and work as library workers, social service workers and more. Earlier that morning the union members filed notice to go on #strike February 2.

I was a member of AFSCME as a young mother. The union looked out for us, and was the reason we had good benefits and fair wages.
I stand with AFSCME Locals 34 and 2822 who are organizing for the same things right now.
