@CobiramaSon @Braedberi__07 Like dawg it ain't that serious after all, Dirge and AC will still be there to play/watch. Canonically, they did happen, but because of how the lifestream works, OG Aerith wants to try and finish Sephiroth once and for all. It's not even like it doesn't make sense in lore.

@CobiramaSon @Braedberi__07 I think being reductionist or rather simplistic about ones opinions is being dishonest. Hoping the Retrilogy is a sequel that leads to Sephiroth being permanently gone, which in tendum "erases" AC and most importantly DoC, is completely different from saying shit about the movie.

@CobiramaSon @Braedberi__07 the only criticism I've ever seen him making about AC was about some mischaracterization and that it wasn't a real "good ending" because of Sephiroth still being a lurking threat in the lifestream and that it eventually leads to DoC, which he dislikes

wish they did something even remotely close to this, but they know that rereleasing a couple of the games at a time every 10 years or so keeps them artificially highly valued and sought after down the line

I get the point of posts like this, but I need to reiterate for anyone who wasn't old enough to be there at the time: on release, bw were loathed. they were seen as the pinnacle of pokemon "going downhill" and "losing creativity". this style was abandoned because it was hated.
