Join us at our Winter Warmth event this Thursday! We'll be sharing warm food, and giving out warm gifts. This Thursday, 12pm -2pm at the Carriageworks.
No one should be pushed into sex work by poverty. But that’s the reality for many women in a cost of living crisis.
Criminalisation makes the industry more dangerous and harder to leave.
The solution is to fully decriminalise it + tackle the root causes.
Me on @Channel4News 👇🏽
Sex work is not inherently violent.
It’s the way that we as a society treat sex work and Sex Workers that can make the work dangerous, the work itself is not inherently violent.
We need to decriminalize sex work now.
Violence against sex workers is tied with systems of poverty, marginalisation and oppression.
Decriminalisation can only be the start of sex worker justice, because power structures must be dismantled to liberate everyone from the harm they cause.

New research alert! Our @lshtm study examines the effect of police enforcement on sexual and emotional violence among sex workers in East London – exposing the disproportionate negative impacts on ethnically/racially minoritized and LGB sex workers https://t.co/o728DVqrYe
Barriers created in healthcare services cause “lack of engagement” not patients. Maybe rather than “how do we reach them” it’s “how do we redesign so they can reach us?”
"Decriminalization of sex work must...occur concurrently with decriminalizing drug possession and use, and addressing social exclusion and discrimination in relation to sex work, sexual and gender identity, housing, poverty, race, and ethnicity."

Entirely coincidental, of course.
Forced displacement of marginalised communities for the sake of personal/corporate gain is nothing new, but it’s as violent as ever.

We are absolutely delighted to hear that @BristolCouncil has voted against imposing a nil-cap ban on strip clubs with a 9-1 majority.
This is a victory for all dancers across Bristol, ensuring their continued access to regulated workplaces and workers' rights within them.
WE DID IT!!! After a two year slog of campaigning against people with far more institutional power and privilege than a group of sex workers, we beat the nil-cap with a vote of 9-1. We are screaming, crying, throwing up with joy rn.
An exciting opportunity to join the team in #Leeds working to reduce late diagnoses of #HIV, and improve sexual health knowledge across the city
