The leaders of my ex Reformed church are coaching my son to intimidate me saying that I show continued evidence of hate flowing from my heart and out of my mouth, even though I have not spoken to or contacted them since the last time we met, 2 weeks ago. I went to ask them for forgiveness (and received it), for everything I said that they found to be sinful and then I thanked them and walked out on them when they refused to let me leave the church in peace. I cannot see my grandchildren this week even though they have not “excommunicated” me yet. Please pray that Christ will break their hold on my son.
@Alex_Ortodoxie Thank you Alex, for this breakdown of the debate. It teaches so much and having Fr. SDY on is awesome. He is a fount of knowledge. Also, Alex, your followers are amazing - so helpful with answers to questions and prayers. Bless you all.
I attended Verspers and Divine Liturgy over the weekend and feel so at peace and calm - praise God. My prior pastors told the congregation about my sinful, rebellious spirit and called on them to reach out to me. Matt 18. Nothing so far. Not sure when the actual excommunication will be.
I went to reason with the pastors one last time last night, bringing a different and more merciful exegesis of Hebrews 13:17. They said I wanted to leave on MY terms and have to submit to them. I thanked them and walked out.
@Alex_Ortodoxie How can I respond to the pastor concerning Hebrews 13:17 which he claims gives him the right to refuse me to leave the church and follow other doctrines?
@SimmyGardener@Alex_Ortodoxie I am going to walk away tonight when I meet with them. I want to do it in front of my son and daughter-in-law so no lies can be told about my attitude. I pray for love and self-control and to only say what needs to be said
@John92647287@Alex_Ortodoxie My heart is broken for my 3 grandchildren who are all under 10 years old and are growing up under this regime. They are the victims as they do not understand why they cannot see me anymore.
@The77thNinja@ChogoSprow@Alex_Ortodoxie I really do not want to go. My son and daughter-in-law are my main concern as they are deceived. I want to tell them I am leaving in front of them, so no lies can be told afterward.
@AngloVarangian@Alex_Ortodoxie Thank you Paisios. I have come to the same conclusion but at least I tried. I will take the excommunication with a smile.
@jaddeyekabir@Alex_Ortodoxie I tried but have been stone walled so I am leaving and will be excommunicated. My son has to work things out for himself. I will pray for him.
