Thank you for your concern. I have been away for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal, but I remain abreast of the matters back home.

On issues of Gen Elwelu, we are aware of it. However, I would like the public to categorically distinguish PLU from the Army.

Gen Elwelu is in the hands of the UPDF- an institution constitutionally mandated to protect citizens and defend our territories. This has nothing to do with PLU.

Rather than victimising PLU, let us allow the military procedures to take its course because the Army has a better and more professional sense of judgment on matters of national security.

So, let’s stay calm and allow the UPDF to conclude its due diligence, and not politicise or tribalise the matter.
