Starfleet have politely informed me that they don't mind me doing AMAs (thank you Data for filing in the paperwork properly!) but want it separated from my personal account.
So to catch up on my previous "I'm a shuttle pilot AMA answers read this first!"

I had to go down to Engineering earlier. It's so hot the air in that department has moved beyond smelling like a Magic: The Gathering tournament to tasting like one.
I think Picard might actually slam up the quarantine fields if it starts seeping up the turbolift shafts.
We're having problems with the temperature regulators, the whole ship smells of arse and the replicators are out of mini-Magnum licences.
This is the side of Star Fleet that never makes the Holos.
It's refit week! So we're docked at the Volvo Yards above New Gรถteborg.
Which SOMEHOW always magically coincides with the #gothcon gaming convention. I am sure this is IN NO WAY related to Geordi and Riker's Warhammer habit.
Not that I'm complaining. I offered to fly them down.
Data has been left in charge up there as apparently he plays something called "Tau" (?!) which, according to both Geordi and Riker, makes him "the enemy of fun"
Your Starfleet shuttle pilot slang of the day:
"Scrubber mission"
One where you KNOW you're gonna need to use the vanity shield and the ultrasonic mop.
This post brought to you by the news Picard's 'escorting' a lady archeologist to a dig again.
@Ruggwain2 well that's kind of my point. If you're getting your version of the foundation of the Federation from docudrama holovids, then it's going to be skewed by cultural perspectives and the need to create something the audience will watch.
Like I say, worth visiting the archives.
One of the benefits of being half-Caitian is non-human species tend to be more... open with you about what they think about humanity and its foibles.
So let me tell you why mushrooms persuaded the Vulcans to invite humans into the Federation. /1
Voice pattern tech. It's fine.
Your code still shouldn't be 8008135 though.
As Riker's was before he was ordered to change it.
The problem is bridge crew forget you can TYPE THEM IN as long as your vitals are disrupted, as the computer assumes you can't talk.

Apparently all senior officers have to do MANDATORY IT security again.
I presume this relates to the mysterious destruction of the USS Goodfellow last week.
Officially it's a 'Q Incident', yet here we are being lectured on how your self destruct code shouldn't be 00destruct0.
And saying shit like this is probably why nobody senior outside the Enterprise has ever encouraged me to put in for the XO programme. ๐
But I'm fine with that. Every time I have to do bridge duty I'm reminded that it's just utter drama up there, at least once a week. /END
As I tell my pilots:
Never forget that HR's prime directive is to protect Star Fleet not you.
And, generally speaking, Star Fleet will back the most senior officer in the room AS LONG AS it's just one account vs another. /1
@catboy_cdr Hey Commander, hypothetical situation. Say a captain is biased against the XO because of the culture she grew up in and she responds by calling him a dick (to his face)(and worse behind his back to superior officers). What are the Starfleet HR consequences?
Star Fleet is about standing up for others. As officers that is our duty. It is the only way we can build the trust we need to succeed at our missions.
If the Captain is wrong, the bridge crew need to stand BESIDE their XO, not behind them.
Only then will Starfleet HR notice.
