The Song Of Achilles is a beautiful ode to humanity in my eyes and people should look at what the book has to say beyond its re-interpretation of Greek Mythology and framing it as "fanfiction"
the song of achilles is one of those books where i understand the criticism it gets but it was so important to me when i was 13 that i can never hate it
this is ragebait and everyone is responding accordingly but what if i said that madeline miller and rick riordan are actually solid jumping off points to build interest in mythology
i feel like im in psychosis by the fact that this administration time and again just says "fuck you and die" to not only us but the whole world and like 30-40% of this fucking country still support him
sometimes a book is 5 star because its a masterpiece. sometimes its a 5 star because it made my brain release serotonin. and sometimes its a 5 star because it made me cry my eyes out. all of them are equally valid.
I would probably call people more often if they wouldn’t get a missed call notification. I love to call and I love to be called randomly but I hate knowing that a return call will be coming for me at an unknown time. I recognize this is something deeply wrong with me
maybe enough time has passed now where I can admit that when I walked out of my viewing of the barbie movie in 2023 I was like "why did they let ryan gosling steal the show as ken in this movie about womanhood" but at the time it felt too antifeminist to say. BUT HE DID STEAL IT
i hate living with housemates because you always end up with these antisocial freaks that silently resent you for stuff like Using The Kitchen because you eat actual food instead of a frozen pizza every night forever
