What’s happened here is that the entire system is extremely unpopular, and the smart Sensible centrists who fought so hard to prove they are the real conservatives have been left holding the bag while the right disowned the whole thing, saying: Nothing to do with us, mate.
@oldenoughtosay The Carry Potty brand is amazing and well worth it if you're out and about. All the forest school parents swear by them. Folds up with a good seal. (I actually need to sell mine on, lol, so hit me up if you're interested for a tenner! It's the fox one.)
@ETAservicesltd@ediz1975 Dammit, you really got my hopes up for traffic-free bike routes to be made safe to ride in icy conditions with my kid on the back! 😤
@IntZBZ@JackyHolyoake@kelvmackenzie Also the education ones on that graph are pro-rata'd, with school holidays deducted from that figure there - a teaching assistant actually earns about £15k 🫤
@AshesandEmber @seaestoffoams @AnitaBeerToday They bloody well are. When adults around them realise they're pregnant, because they didn't know themselves until they start showing. It's one of the reasons to push for better sex education early on, so that children know how to express that abuse is taking place.
@AshesandEmber @seaestoffoams @AnitaBeerToday Yes, those are all good reasons for needing a later abortion. And "young" here often means "too young to have realised earlier what was happening". Like, preteens in familial abuse situations.
Here's one of the studies:
"The study included every person in Sweden diagnosed with COVID-19 from Feb. 1, 2020, to Sept. 14, 2020 — a total of nearly 87,000 people. Their median age was 48, and 57% were women. Researchers compared them with more than 348,000 Swedish people of similar age and sex who did not have the virus.
In the week after a COVID-19 diagnosis, the risk of a first heart attack increased by three to eight times. The risk of a first stroke caused by a blood clot multiplied by three to six times. In the following weeks, both risks decreased steadily but stayed elevated for at least a month."

1.5C is dead, & the silence from our ‘leaders’ is deafening.
Their only priority is to keep us fueling a suicidal economy right up to the collapse they know is coming, & are sliding us into authoritarianism to keep us compliant
We must wake up now, or we may not wake up at all.
It’s a good day to remind everyone that, although it sounds counterintuitive, using a lot of detergent doesn’t get your clothes cleaner, heat destroys clothes, and too much agitation does too. If you’re getting a lot of suds, you’ve almost certainly added too much detergent.
@Ki3ran_K I've had a driver tell me he's only on his phone because he's stationary... *while driving off*. (Yes, still on his phone.) I really think they don't notice.
One million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions could be saved every year if people who currently travel short distances by car cycled instead, a transport charity has claimed.
