No one wakes up thinking, “I’d love to be angry about politics today.” People criticize because they’re frustrated with real problems. If the government performed well, people wouldn’t have much to complain about.

So no, people won’t stop complaining just because it makes some folks uncomfortable. If anything, those who defend bad governance should ask themselves: why am I okay with mediocrity?
