So if a plane ticket costs $1200 to fly from Florida to someplace else in America, but then jumps to $3000 because a hurricane is coming…….that should be criminal. No company should ever be allowed to price gouge during disasters.

Again, I disagree with the fact that by us sharing our experiences is somehow the same as “bashing” her parents. I’ve never called them names or slandered them & I’ve never denied that they are her REAL parents. I’ve simply only stated facts & my own personal truth/experience. & If by sharing those things, happens to paint them in a certain way (which is not my intention at all) then I’d argue it has more to do with the actual facts themselves, rather than my own personal opinions about them

Dawn has tried everything to facilitate any kind of mediation, conversation & open transparency to no avail, unfortunately. Carly’s parents are refusing to do so (which is their right of course). It’s a very sad & complex situation all around

The truth, facts & reasonings of why all of sudden she will not be seeing us & her biological sisters like she has been used to her whole life. The truth & facts of open adoption, closed adoption, typical adoptee trauma, birthparent perspectives, adoptive parents perspective, adoptees perspective, etc. I think she deserves to know these things. I think all adoptees do!

We have already tried this multiple times. Dawn has reached out & has tried to get some sort of mediation or conversation to happen but they refuse. She’s gone above & beyond for us

That’s a really good question & I would ABSOLUTELY embrace her little brother as I always have! We’ve never gone to a visit without a gift for Carly AND her brother for this specific reason. He’s the sweetest, most kind hearted young man & I feel so blessed that Carly has him as a sibling to love & make memories with!

Again, I disagree that the words “WANT” & “HOPE” are the same as “NEED” but like I said, we’ll have to agree to disagree here. I believe that ethical (accurate) journalism is important for the right information to get out there. I still firmly believe that your headline is misleading, but I also fully understand that you have a very “specific” audience that you must cater to

Your headline says I stated the word “need” to heal their infertility trauma. Implying that I am telling them to do something they’re not. I don’t believe I ever said they “need” to do anything & if I did, that is definitely not what I meant. I think we can agree to disagree here, but in my opinion it’s misleading

This headline is misleading in my opinion. If you’d watch the whole live video I posted that this article is referring to, you’d understand the context. I said I hope they have/had some healing with the pain & trauma that comes with infertility, because I couldn’t imagine how hard that must be for people. You can twist my genuine compassion & empathy all you want to, that’s fine I just wanted to clarify what I thought was misleading.

Our communities are being torn apart. We need to give this the same priority.

I'm very reluctant to dictate a government solution. What we found from touring, this is a small fraction of the places we actually visited. I wanted to see every place that's doing this right, and what we found is there's a tremendous diversity of approaches that are working very very well. One thing almost all of them have in common is that they don't have government support.

And so I'm very reluctant to get the government involved in a way that is going to micromanage places like this. I want to make the government support them and that may be through land purchases and through those kinds of contracts but I don't want the government to be coming in and micromanaging. I think this has to be run by NGOs and we have to use a lot of different approaches.

You know Franklin Roosevelt when he was launching the New Deal said 'We're going to try these programs and we're going try something one thing at a time and if it doesn't work we're going to abandon it and were going to try something else, but were always going to be trying something.'

And all I can guarantee, I can't tell you right now that there's one solution or even a multiplicity of solutions but what I can tell you is that in my administration we're going to solve the problem because I'm going to focus on it. And if there are things that are working we're going to create ecosystems in which those kinds of solutions can proliferate.
