@magi_jay Thanks for saying it. I think that the scariest part is how fast things turn around: you feel safe for years and in a moment, because of something that happened in the other side of the world, your life are in danger. Maybe it also happens to muslim people.
@rusi_kathoke@AlastairMcA30 Yea. Unfortunately, no one cares about what we think.
Last weekend, I felt sick hearing about innocents dying. This week, i hear about more innocents dying, and I am even partially responsible.
@cancelkultur@yhdistyminen (who can't respond because then the army can arrest them).
I do think that in some cases, soldiers who align with their agenda are happy to 'help'. But I have personally heard stories about soldiers actually getting stones from both sides trying to meditate.
@cancelkultur@yhdistyminen The situation is a bit more complex. Regular soldiers can't legally do anything to Israeli citizens (apart from protecting them). Many times, that basically means that they protect settler who harass, hit and throw stones on Palestinians.
@cancelkultur@yhdistyminen Sorry. But this is not accurate. Whole Israel does have a mandatory service (for a few yesrs), there is no such paramilitary groups.
There are a few places in which settlers sometimes armed, harass and even murder Palestinians. But the army and most of the settlers denounce them
@magi_jay Agree. It is scary how hard it is to find reasonable voices on this website. From all sides. The world is a bit more complex than black and white.
@TracketPacer I think both, detecting it is a very important soft skil for a manager. But I also think that many times team members get burnout because of very stressing and inconsiderate management.
@SCWpod@mjg59 From my understanding, you'll always have to trust the server to give you the right keys. You could try to authenticate them by yourself, but most of the users won't do that.
@SCWpod@mjg59 Finally had time to properly listen. Very interesting!
One thing that was unclear to me was how triple diffie helman (or whatever other protocol) can solve the first exchange MITM problem where the server could give you their own keys.
@SCWpod@sweis So I'm quite confused (as a SW engineer with no crypto background). From what I know all of the current encryption algorithms are not np complete. So how will np=p affect them?
@SCWpod@sweis Something that I didn't understand: you said that if p=np then we won't have any cryptographic algorithms. But then you proceed to say that if you had an black box that will only validate your input for RSA (for example), then it is enough to break the algorithm.
