LACIERDA, ARAO SLAM BAM AQUINO’S ‘IDEAL’ EJK STATEMENT
Atty. Edwin Lacierda and Prof. Danny Arao of Kontra Daya criticized Senator Bam Aquino for calling on the FPRRD trial for alleged extrajudicial killings to be held in both the Philippines and the ICC, calling his statement “not very ideal” and disconnected from the realities on the ground.
They argued that Philippine courts move too slowly to deliver justice and emphasized that statements to the media must be pragmatic, not theoretical, given the scale and complexity of the cases.
