Enjoyed #ADeathBeforeEvensong by @RevRichardColes loved comment on choral singing (who knew a semi-tone could confound a congregation?) And Stationary! Please could the next book contain an Annexe describing where we can buy the pens, ink and paper (maybe from @cultpens 😂)
@KirstieMAllsopp For years small patch of black mould on bathroom ceiling (1950 house crittall window) kept at bay by keeping the window open a crack 24/7. Now, new 2x glazing kept on vent. No mould

One big advantage Labour has on Child Protection is that those leading the line are working class women like @bphillipsonMP and @jessphillips - while the bandwagon fascists are rich misogynist men with no history of even caring 👇🏽
I stand with @jessphillips. Do please reTWEET if you do, too. This is beyond party politics now. It’s about whether as a nation we still have self-respect. #IStandWithJess
I once contacted @jessphillips out of the blue for advice about a woman I was trying to support who had fled domestic violence. I emailed her at 7pm on a Friday night not really expecting a response. 1/2
Thanks for taking notice of the issue. Two out of the four rolls I bought had this problem, wasting a strip of around 6 inches on both rolls. Maybe the sticky strips are ok for a few weeks then get too tacky
Dear @JohnLewisRetail I’ve managed to remove 3 of 5 ‘environmentally friendly’ labels without damage, the 4th has shredded a section and I’m still struggling with the fifth. Is this really a better alternative?
Thank you to all who have been in touch on the deeply sensitive issue of assisted dying.
I’ve set out why I voted against the bill in Parliament today here https://t.co/ZWHFtrBE38
Now the bill has passed 2nd reading I’ll work to strengthen it to address concerns raised with me.
@SimonTaylorKC @philipmurraylaw The application is to be heard in the family division, would it not be better before the masters who deal with Clin Neg? Also there has been nothing in the discussions about costs
On day one
1. Partygate was overblown
2. Johnson was a great PM
3. The Covid rules she voted for were wrong
4. Sneering at the first woman chancellor
5. Announces tax cut for private schools
A mixture of arrogance, revisionism and poor judgement.
Can you imagine if, during the years of Brexit renegotiations (2020-24), journalists had grilled the Tories on their manifesto promise to get Brexit done.... as much as they're now grilling Labour on whether they're "taxing working people"?
It shows they CAN do their jobs.
They just chose not to with the Tories.
The Special Needs Education system is in crisis. New Basingstoke Labour MP @LukeMLabour is leading a Parliamentary debate where the minister will have to reply. You can watch here: https://t.co/yGllehqrhs
@implausibleblog Agree more staff is needed and PAs gone but bearing in mind it takes 3yrs to train nurses, physios etc (and then several years consolidation) and 12 to be fully qualified as a doctor what is needed is to bring back freedom of movement for EU healthcare staff to bridge the gap!
Sorry but the last time when big measures were not briefed, it was such a shock to markets that it caused a run on sterling and the BoE had to save pension funds from collapse. Pitch-rolling is not always a bad thing...
Labour has a lot to celebrate this week.
While the media focused on Budget speculation, the government has quietly been fixing the country.

Fascinating insights from @SteveAkehurst and IPPR here showing how ingrained ideas about what the public want may not actually be based on public opinion.
A must-read for all MPs.
