@FALloyd@jamesmurray_ldn@NHSEngland Multiple examples for the same person too. I only talk a couple here, but I’d say 90% of my appointments outside of primary care have an element of inconsistency - from being turned away and rescheduled to having to travel 5 hours for a test that could be done 5 miles away.
The NHS saved my life.
I’ve spent the last 17 years navigating it with a brain tumour.
This week showed me, yet again, how often patients are expected to join the dots.

@k8wslab@jamesmurray_ldn@NHSEngland Totally agree. What’s striking is that it isn’t an unrecognised problem.
We already have initiatives like Shared Care Records to improve information sharing.
But patients are still making wasted journeys/repeating tests in 2026. There’s still a gap between ambition and reality
@TonyLloyd191450@jamesmurray_ldn@NHSEngland Thank you. I’m sorry your father has experienced it too. It seems the specifics vary, but the underlying issue is often the same. That’s exactly why I wanted to start this conversation.

Better coordination would reduce both.
I imagine lots of people have their own version of this story.
If you’re a patient, clinician or work in the NHS, I’d genuinely love to hear it.
Thoughts @jamesmurray_ldn @BenObeseJect @NHSEngland@NWAngliaFT?

This isn’t about a single MRI.
The more I’ve spoken to patients, clinicians and NHS staff, the more I’ve realised we’re describing the same problem.
It’s a story I’ve been a character in across 22 hospitals.
Patients carry the burden.
NHS staff carry the frustration.
How do mutants win the game of clones? 🏆🤷
In this week's @Nature, Dustin Flanagan @CRUK_BI + @owen_sansom, with the great @KatajistoLab and @SPECIFICANCER team, find out how APC mutations cause #cancer in the #gut ... with help from NOTUM
