I’m so happy I stumbled upon this book on a library display. It’s beautiful, sad, and unlike anything I’ve read before! “Calvin” by @MartineLeavitt#amreading
*sits down to edit, playlist going strong, excited for the scene*
5 y/o bursts through the door two minutes later, sobbing. “I dropped my ring in the potty!”
*follows her to confirm*
Yep. In the potty. Along with a #2. RIP, plastic ring. You will be missed. #momlife#writerslife
But the good part about saying goodbye to unnecessary scenes is saying hello to new, better scenes. This reminded me of the deleted scenes on DVDs. I was always so excited to watch them, and then when I did, I'd think, "no wonder that was cut. It sucked."
So, I have good news and bad news. The good news is, I came up with a great twist for the end of my novel! The bad news? My revision list is growing as fast as I'm checking items off. Oh well, what can ya do? #amrevising#amwriting#amnevergonnafinishthisbook
I set a goal for myself to edit for ten days straight. So far, I am 6 for 6. I am setting a goal for this draft to be DONE on June 1st. If I keep up this pace, I know I can do it! #amrevising#writinggoals#wegotthis
Editing is rarely fun. Or enjoyable. Or even tolerable, IMO. But today? Today, I ended my editing sesh with a killer hook. Feels good to quit on a high note! #amrevising
Today, I got up one snooze cycle earlier than usual to give myself 8 bonus editing minutes. As someone who adores sleep--seriously, in love with it--this is a big deal. HUGE. #amediting#itscomingtogether
The ending came to me so easily. It was one yasss moment after another! Writing is such a weird, fun, hard as hell process. I love it. But it can be a real bitch sometimes. #amrevising
