MSc Student in Finance, at Queen's University Belfast. I am particularly interested in Sustainable Finance and will be sharing my research🌿💵 @QUBManagement
Hi everyone! This semester, I will be sharing my research in sustainable finance. I am particularly interested in the homebuilding & construction sector and how environmental factors are considered. My motivation for this topic is due to the increased importance in ESG recently!!
Good Afternoon!!
I thought I would share with you an article on 'The best new books on climate change' incase you were struggling to find something to read in your free time. Maybe you need a break from studying?📕🖊️

A few years ago it was very hard to find books on this topic but now there are many to choose from.
The book that particular stands out to me is 'Racing Green: How Motorsport Science Can Save the World' written by Kit Chapman. I will definitely be giving this a read🏁🏎️
As well there will be an appointment of a climate change commissioner. Northern Ireland has been the only part of the UK without climate legislation
Poots had originally proposed an 82% reduction in emissions by 2050 but in February the assembly voted to amend that to net zero
Good Afternoon! Hope you are enjoying your Saturday☀️
I would like to make you aware of the new law in Northern Ireland
Agriculture and Environmental Minister, Edwin Poots brought a bill that includes a target for net zero emissions by 2050

The next goal of this research project is to develop algorithms to detect greenwashing.
The ClimateBert algorithm is downloadable for free and can be trained to provide transparency in the sustainable-finance world.
Fascinating interview with Markus Leippold, who is part of a project called ClimateBert. This project uses artificial intelligence to assess climate-related corporate disclosures.

The used an algorithm developed by Google in 2018, which feeds 1.4 million paragraphs related to climate.
A cheap talk index was created and it would found that after the Paris Agreement, the Cheap Talk Index has been on the rise.
Now having posted all four of my blogs. I'd like to recap with you the areas I have covered!
Week 1: The importance of the construction industry considering environmental aspects of ESG

Week 2: Does investment in ESG really create value?
https://t.co/RppmwkMn9F
Week 3: What is greenwashing and why have public concerns about greenwashing dramatically increased?

I'd like to thank you for all your support and comments so far!! It's been great learning more about this topic and sharing my findings with you🧐

Hi Everyone!😀 I hope you are having a lovely weekend. I am excited to share my forth and final blog with you all!
This week my blog is on 'Environmental Regulation and law within the construction industry' https://t.co/0cAxuSDM5p
If nothing is done, scientists warn that global warming could exceed 4C.
It is now more important than ever that the construction industry understand the role they have in tackling global warming. (3/3)

Key knowledge: How construction industry impacts the environment
What is climate change?💦☀️
The shift in average weather conditions over many years. This recently increased due to the use of oil, gas and coal. When these fossil fuels burn, they release greenhouse gas (CO2) 1/3
These gases trap the sun's heat and causes the planet's temperature to rise.
Did you know? 📢
The world is now about 1.2C warmer than it was in the 19th Century, with the CO2 levels rising by 50%!!
Research has found that global warming needs to be kept to 1.5C by 2100. (2/3)
