39° Florida Renn Faire.

The hot chocolate vendor was sold out by noon, so that should tell you a little about how Floridians deal with the cold. 😆

@SHalleway In undergrad, I asked my writing professors how I could use my writing skills in my dayjobs (my core job was as an actor). They had little advice for me—at that time writers went into journalism or wrote novels.

Now I'm a copywriter and it's beautiful. 💜

@HoosLaughingNow @LissaJoStewart Seems like something the school could help with (by reaching out to a local high school, like you said, or some other community org) instead of putting the onus on the students to use their social capital or family privilege.

[Cathlyn @cathlynmelvin]

@HoosLaughingNow @LissaJoStewart I can absolutely see the value in having the experience. But if I had continued with law school in Gainesville, FL, where I know no one outside of my school peers, I would have failed the assignment unless I could convince a random community member. 😳

You could also maybe ask pre-law clubs at the various undergrads in the area—those students could be intrinsically motivated to show up?
