There needs to be some sort of lay council with power in the Church to deal with sex abuse issues. I have not lost faith in Catholicism, but I have lost faith in clergy-led administration handling of such cases. (4)

A papal nuncio wrote an 11 page letter that a Cardinal who had been strongly sanctioned by Benedict for sex abuse had the sanctions removed by Francis.

That’s my understanding of it, and if true he needs to resign immediately, and is morally culpable.
