@ImmaculateView@ManUnited_00@HazzardCoEng@JWMediaDC What, you wouldn't want new Purdue's or Michigan State's to join your club? I think people keep overlooking the value of industry partnerships and the land grant model that creates a research funding floor.
@TheFieldOf68@GoodmanHoops What? Gainey is paying more for assistants than NC State has before. I think it's more about selectivity and fit than resources.
@getKennethed22@nypost Do you understand what a blessing it is to have one of these kids? Yes, hard. Absolutely rewarding and worth it. Another sacrifice to the goddess of convenience.
@Ecu_elmo Does this "pirate" even understand how much money the V Foundation has raised for cancer research? Even without the '83 championship, the impact on people's lives is worth honoring. Besides, the Canes are playing in the house Valvano built. What a f-ng tool.
Before Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, ESPN showed a big ol' video featuring the culture of the Carolina Hurricanes' biggest fans, the Caniacs, written by @ESPNMcGee#SoundTheSiren#ForgedInGold#NHL#StanleyCup
@rae_hodges80476@markalsip57@JaredW67913667 It's a π, but many schools have big donations. We can cycle through many numbers and this is good news, but it doesn't remove the warts, only covers them up.
@rae_hodges80476@markalsip57@JaredW67913667 VT has very little margin of error to get into the P2. My bet is VT and NC State likely end up remaining in the ACC or move to B12. Two great institutions that should move up, but are facing strong headwinds.
@rae_hodges80476@markalsip57@JaredW67913667 I agree UVA won't be left out, but would not make the same claim about VT. Nice football frenzy and history, but that's about it. Super sized ECU IMHO.
Two chief problems with ECU. 1) only cares about football and baseball, no other sport gets that same passion. 2) economically depressed area without the base to compete financially. Whereas, Charlotte cares about more than football and baseball with access to corporate donors. Much of Charlotte's support comes from non-alums in the local business community.
Bottomline: ECU is not strong enough to save the ACC in NC, thus will not be added. Only chance Charlotte or AppState for that matter get included is the Charlotte donor pool.
Bottom line, if UNC, Duke, and/or NC State leave the ACC, it is highly unlikely any of these schools would replace the loss.
@Sassafrass_84 Here's the thing, FL was embarrassed by hanging chads and chose to become an example of efficiency. CA chose to double down on f-d up crap.
