@staralixstar42 Yep. They had totalled cars in the parking lot and our cosmetology department would go all out with the kids that were "in the crash." The grim reapered kids would come back with makeup and sit in class, but couldn't talk to anyone. Also a fake funeral the next day.

@staralixstar42 Yeah. I think part of it is that clothes sizes are weird. I fit into XS-L depending on the cut and the clothing item. I *think* I'd say something more like "I wear a large in spandex shorts" but maybe I'd say "I size up in spandex shorts." It's interesting.

@staralixstar42 If I got a larger size JUST to have a better fit there, I might see that as "sizing up."

But also, in my personal experience, it can be hard to recognize and come to terms with being a larger size than you were before. So maybe also just old fashioned fatphobia.

@staralixstar42 I wonder if someone is "sizing up" like that because a certain part of their body is bigger -- but the rest of their body is a smaller size. I just got a tee that's pretty roomy for me everywhere besides the shoulders/upper arms...
