The longer someone stays in hospital
The higher the risk of hospital acquired harm
Getting patients home is not just about "freeing beds" it's about giving them support in the right place and keeping them well. Keeping them in hospital longer than necessary adds to risks of harm
Look, I’ll admit it
I’m tired
of taking precautions
and I’m tired
of calculating risks
but I shall continue
for it is not so much
that I am experiencing
compassion fatigue
as that I am fatigued
by the lack of compassion
I see all around me.

My Auntie is a #DakelhMatriarch, I appreciate her leadership.
How difficult it is
to make people understand
that we are not
out of the woods
quite yet
when they refuse to believe
that their being surrounded
by trees
is proof they are in the woods.

I don't think a lot of #Canucks fans realize that Gino Odjick wore the number 29 to honour his father, Joseph, a Survivor of the Spanish Indian Residential School in Ontario. He was given 29 as his registration number at the school. Here's more about Gino: https://t.co/JWdUmz5kvJ

This is beyond concerning when you remember that Indigenous folx make up only 6-7% of the population in this country. We have a problem. We’ve had a problem for a long time. It’s time to stop ignoring it. #MMIWG2S
