"Thames Water should be nationalised, says Andy Burnham."
And he's right. Thames Water should have been renationalised years ago.
Bravo @AndyBurnhamGM 👏👏👏👏

Farage's name appears about 40 times in the Epstein files. Mostly in emails between Epstein and Bannon discussing Farage's role in Bannon's scheme to create a European fascist network.
£384,060 a year.
That's how much you spend on average on every single one of the 50,000 Children in Private Care.
Nearly £80,000 is profit that goes straight to billionaires.
Foster Parents get £10-15,000 a year, and they do a better job.
We need to get the billionaires out
Albania has officially drawn the
line, Sazan 'lsland is being cleared. In an stunning turn of events, Albanian authorities have
launched an active enforcement operation to kick
out foreign developers and private security
personnel occupying Sazan Island. The decisive
action marks a total collapse of the controversial €1.4 billion luxury real estate deal that aimed to turn the protected national marine reserve and
former military base into an exclusive private playground for global elites,
The eviction comes after four consecutive weeks of historic
hundred-thousand-strong protests that completely
shut down the capital city of Tirana, refusing to allow their native coastlines and ecologically sensitive wetlands to be privatized by foreign
investors, the Albanian public unified under a
single, unyielding demand: "Albania is not for sale, the courts faced with a historic political crisis, mounting
domestic fury, and a widening anti-corruption
investigation by special prosecutors (SPAK), the
government was forced to pivot, by deploying state forces to reclaim Sazan lsland, Albania has
sent a clear message to international billionaires
and foreign developers trying to bypass environmental protection laws, This historic victory for citizen-led activism proves that the collective voice of a nation can successfully overpower backroom corporate deals and protect sovereign land.
The people spoke, and the
government had to listen.
NHS SPENT £680,000 TO SILENCE A DOCTOR WHO WAS TRYING TO SAVE YOUR LIFE
Dr Jasna Macanovic was a kidney specialist with 20 years of excellent NHS service at Portsmouth Hospitals (@PHU_NHS). She watched patients suffer complications from a dialysis needle technique her colleagues had introduced. Bleeding. Clotting. Deaths.
She raised it internally. Nothing moved. So she went to the @CareQualityComm. Then the GMC. That is literally what doctors are legally and professionally required to do.
Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust responded by sacking her for serious misconduct. The misconduct, in case you missed it, was reporting unsafe care to the regulator.
They called her aggressive. Intimidating. Unmanageable. The Employment Tribunal called it a predetermined unfair dismissal. Zero contributory fault on her part. She won at every single stage over five years.
The Trust legal bill to fight her: £680,000. Your money. NHS money. The compensation she was awarded: £219,000. The people who ran the disciplinary campaign against her, which the tribunal literally described as a counter-offensive, were later promoted.
CEO Penny Emerit was later handed an even bigger role running two NHS trusts simultaneously. The medical director who originally launched the disciplinary action against Dr Macanovic, Simon Holmes, moved to a board role at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The CQC investigated him and found no breach. The same CQC that had texted Dr Macanovic in 2016 to personally promise she was protected and could not lose her job.
She lost her job.
Nobody struck off. Nobody sacked. The Freedom to Speak Up policy sitting somewhere in a shared drive, largely decorative.

This is awful. The last ever Denby Pottery going to the kiln. Why is there not uproar? Where’s the government in this?? We all have Denby in our homes, in family heirlooms, as our history and now it’s closing through lack of support, such a sad sad day. #SaveDenby@denbypottery
@tykestakeonit Hodge is a serial tax avoider with all her wealth stashed in Liechtenstein - a tax haven:
Margaret Hodge’s family company paid just 0.01% tax – £163,000 on more than £65m profit.
Inside the plot to kill the state pension triple lock How low can they go? How about scrapping payments to ex-pms? Paying for second homes?scrap Subsidised bars and food. Taxing the rich? Not paying subsidies to failing utilities, https://t.co/zvMUBnA1jD
THIS IS HOW REDRESS BECOMES A SECOND SCANDAL.
Sir Alan Bates has called the Post Office compensation schemes an utter disaster, and he is right to put the blame on the design of the system.
The state failed sub-postmasters through Horizon. Then the same state helped build compensation routes so complex, legalistic, slow, and intimidating that victims were forced through another battle just to get redress.
That should shame everyone involved.
The Guardian reports that more than £1.48bn has been paid to at least 11,500 claimants, while thousands of claims still remain unsettled. More than 900 sub-postmasters were convicted between 1999 and 2015 because faulty Horizon data falsely showed money missing.
Bates is saying the government should fund redress, but an independent body should run it. That matters.
Victims do not need another maze. They need compensation that is fast, fair, independent, and built around them, not around protecting institutions.

Seriously … South East Water has told the public to ration water after a 3 day heatwave because the reservoirs are “critical”…
…while the Government fast tracks giant AI data centres in the South East that consume vast amounts of water to keep the machine running.
No water for the people but Unlimited resources for the surveillance infrastructure…. Of course 🤡
LUCY LETBY'S HOSPITAL HAD ANOTHER SCANDAL. THIS ONE COST £3M.
Dr Susan Gilby took over as chief executive of the Countess of Chester Hospital @TheCountessNHS in 2018. The same hospital at the centre of the Lucy Letby case. She spent four years leading it through a pandemic and a criminal investigation. In 2021, a new chairman arrived. Ian Haythornthwaite.
After she raised a formal whistleblowing complaint about Haythornthwaite, she was subjected to treatment the tribunal described as appalling.
The chairman and three senior Trust members created something called "Project Countess." The tribunal found its sole aim was to remove her. They built a sham case. Unfounded misconduct allegations. Fabricated performance concerns. None of it amounted to gross misconduct. All of it was designed to look like it did.
One director took her to a pub and told her it was "time for you to go." If she refused, they would start a process. She was not told what that process would be.
WhatsApp messages were not disclosed. Material disappeared from her HR file. Emails were selectively deleted. Documents relevant to the Thirlwall Inquiry were also deleted from her account, though later recovered. The tribunal judge said the failure to preserve evidence was "unexplained."
She was then offered a 16-month non-job on the condition she walked away quietly. She called it utterly shocking.
She refused. She went to tribunal instead.
She won £1.4m in damages. One of the largest payments the NHS has ever made to a former employee. The total cost to the taxpayer, including legal fees, is estimated at around £3m. The Trust had refused offers to settle and avoid court.
"They enabled me to pursue justice in the face of an organisation prepared to spend extraordinary sums to silence me," she said.
The Trust still refuses to issue an apology.
@TheBMA said the case exposed a "corrosive NHS culture" more concerned with reputation than patient safety. They called for radical change to whistleblower protections. They warned the current law is not fit for purpose.
Dr Gilby said she feels sad, not triumphant. She lost a 32-year career for refusing to stay quiet.
The people who ran Project Countess have left the Trust. No criminal charges. No accountability. Just a very large bill paid by the public.
If you raise concerns in the NHS, they will build a case against you, delete the evidence, and take you to the pub to tell you to leave.

Privatised water is such an obvious scam that it's achieved the impossible: getting 82% of Brits to agree on something.
The only issue to score higher was the public’s desire for Tony Blair to stick to retirement.
South East Water warns customers will be cut off as reservoirs run dry.
Neglected investment for years. Siphoned off money to pay dividends.
No national grid for water. No national plan.
Must remove profit motive and shareholders. Need public ownership.
