I don't normally weigh in on Federal issues, I have enough state options on my plate, but I did want to comment on the actions taking place between US Forces and Iran.

Since my teenage years, 50 years ago, I've been hearing the mullahs in Iran screaming death to America! For all of my adult life I have seen Iran kill Americans across the globe. In 1979, they took US Marines hostage and others from the US Embassy in Tehran that lasted 444 days.

In 1983, over 240 Marines were killed with a car bomb at the Beirut Barracks. In 2000 US Navy sailors were killed in the bombing of the USS Cole. USAF barracks were bombed in Saudi Arabia more than once killing service members. The list goes on and on, from hijackings, and terrorist acts.

Iran has funded terrorism, targeted American service members, threatened our allies, and openly called for Death to America. At some point, they will carry out their threats. They kill their own citizens by the thousands, foreigners would be an easy target.

In the 21st Century, techology can overcome the huge Pacific and Atlantic Oceans that protected us for years. The United States cannot allow Iran to build a nuclear weapon. A nuclear-armed Iran would destabilize the Middle East, endanger American troops, and threaten our homeland. Deterrence only works when our enemies know we are serious.

I lived, and nearly died in the Middle East for years, amongst the danger. I know some there yearn for freedom, but also the hatred that some have for our way of life. It was likely Iranian funded explosives, training and technology that nearly killed me as a Marine on patrol in 2005.

As a retired Marine Corps SgtMajor, I understand the gravity of military action. It is never taken lightly, but it must always remain a credible option. When American national security is at stake, weakness invites aggression. The only thing these people respect is strength and force.

God bless our troops in harms way, doing unthinkable tasks on our behalf.

Gerald is a four-year-old Hereford cross in a field near Ledbury. He weighs about 600 kilograms. He has been busy this morning.

6:14am - Woke up. Began destroying the planet by eating grass.

7:02am - Continued environmental catastrophe by walking slowly toward the water trough.

8:45am - Committed a war crime against the atmosphere by exhaling.

9:30am - Did a pat. In a field. Where it will become part of a complex nutrient cycle that has been running successfully since before humans existed.

11:00am - Grazed a section of meadow, inadvertently aerating the soil with his hooves, spreading seeds in his dung, creating habitat for dung beetles, and sequestering carbon through the root systems his grazing stimulates.

Noon - Had a lie down.

The scientists monitoring Gerald's methane output have calculated that this methane, derived from grass pulled from British soil, is part of a carbon cycle that has been net neutral for ten thousand years of continuous cattle domestication.

They have not been asked to present this finding anywhere.

Gerald is unavailable for comment. He is destroying a particularly threatening patch of ryegrass on the south side of the field.

I was a teenager and watched the American Embassy takeover by Iranian extremists and all 444 days of the hostage crisis. It was one of the reasons I joined the USMC.
I was serving when so many of my brothers were blown up in Beirut by Iranian proxies.

Do you know how many times I saw McCarthy in Judge Cannon's courtroom covering in person any of the documents proceedings?

None.

There's so much jawdropping dishonesty, obfuscation, and intentional omission of facts in this piece, one has to wonder exactly how McCarthy is benefitting from constantly defending Jack Smith and his dirty prosecution while attacking Judge Cannon and the Trump DOJ for attempting to hold Smith and his team of thugs accountable.

Also-truly astonishing that McCarthy criticizes Trump for not seeking a dismissal in the FLA case earlier than it did. (The motion to disqualify Smith was filed in Feb 2024 amid several ongoing battles between the special counsel and the defense in Florida AND in DC as well as handling the president's cases in NY.)

Trump was supposed to seek to disqualify Smith--BEFORE he was indicted? On what standing?

And his attorneys didn't file a similar motion in DC for two reasons: all proceedings were halted in Dec 2023 pending final resolution of the immunity question before SCOTUS AND the DC circuit already ruled in favor of a special counsel appointment in the Mueller case (there is no similar ruling in 11th circuit.)

Cannon dismissed the documents indictment in July 2024, yet Smith ignored that order and continued to handle discovery in the case and sign his name to briefs until the day before he officially resigned.

Not a peep from McCarthy on that brazen contempt of court behavior by Smith.

And as I have noted before--nearly 800 entries on the public docket. What exactly does McCarthy think Smith will add to the existing record other than his usual partisan spin against the president as we've seen in his recent writings and public appearances?

McCarthy will literally be the last man standing "on the Right" in insisting Jack Smith is an honest broker, his investigation/prosecution was legit, and Trump was guilty of all crimes related to J6 and classified documents.

Wonder why.
