@courtneyrsexton I remember my mom having a long discussion with my teacher about it. I don’t remember the outcome beyond getting the impression that if I was a better person, it wouldn’t have happened. Of course it wasn’t said that way, but it was the underlying message.

@courtneyrsexton This happened to me in the 5th grade. Only it was signed anonymous. I eventually figured out who it was. They apologized and said they didn’t mean it. But our friendships were pretty well over.

@JustAmyZing Last spring/summer I had to wait 6 week for a therapist, and I have good insurance! And even now I can only see him every 2 weeks with his schedule, which was fine but is going to be less fine as we move forward. *sigh*

@ashleymeaster Without some serious reprogramming and help from strangers, and a will to start life again from nothing, she has few options. It’s easy to judge people from the outside, but their group is way more complicated than “just” abuse.
