So far this month, I have checked out over 50 picture books from the public library to read to my class. @hellojenjones says that everything you need to teach a child can be found in a book. She’s 100% accurate, it’s all there.
When the girls grow up and find someone who wants to marry them, he better be smart enough to ask me instead of their dad. It’s my opinion that really matters. 😂
@sarahannnnnn11 I know. I think hard topics have always been avoided because they make other people feel uncomfortable. I know that I have felt better after sharing some of my struggles and sometimes it helps others too! If someone doesn’t like me for it, they weren’t going to like me regardless
At the end of February, my youngest daughter (infant) was hospitalized for influenza A. We got the bill today. . .
You’re telling me that Tylenol, Motrin, and two doses of Tamilfu cost $453? You’re telling me, my infant drank up $453 worth of medication in two days? 🤔
I specifically remember the Tamiflu script I picked up after she was discharged was $92 (after insurance). You cannot tell me the other two OVER THE COUNTER medications cost $361.
"You are not working from home; you are at your home during a crisis trying to work."
I've heard this twice today. I think it's an important distinction worth emphasising.
Here’s hoping that one of the positive consequences of all this unexpected homeschooling is that teachers are more widely respected and supported. (And we could probably stand to pay them a bit more too.)
Dearest educators, if you were in the midst of reading one of my Fairly True Tales when school got canceled, you have my permission to record yourself reading aloud and send to your students via whatever platform y'all use. Bless you for doing what you can to help your students.
I’m not usually one to get political, but. . .
Who asks a group of 50 elementary educators if they would be interested in a yearly attendance incentive, when over 90% of that group is made up of women. . . And a majority of that group are moms with young kids WHO GET SICK.
Have you ever looked around the room and suddenly realized you are not where you’re supposed to be?
You’re not sure where that is exactly, but this just isn’t it.
