This weekend travelling with @northernassist. Planned to travel today, of course every train on the manc - Southport line is cancelled. So travelled last night, 2 cancelled trains, one kick out in Wigan, wait for another train. 3.5 hours to travel what should be a 55 min journey.

@northernassist are the trains scheduled for Christmas eve definitely going ahead as planned? Just sceptical due to lack of Sunday services recently since staff don't have to work them (and wondering if that's the same for Xmas eve). Thank you.

@AndyBurnhamGM northern now have that many Sunday cancellations that their service is fundamentally none existent, and they've even outstretched bus companies which have been keeping their services afloat for a long time. How are they getting away with it?

@catli0n We're still awaiting for an update on when this will be resolved. Unfortunately due to the volume of cancellations we are unable to source buses ^SC
