You said I treated you like shit. So let’s go back to the beginning and look at the facts.

From the moment you arrived in Uganda, I received you at the airport with two Range Rovers. You normally stay in the apartment you use whenever you come to Uganda, but I went out of my way to move you to Skyz Hotel Naguru, a much better and more expensive accommodation, because I wanted you comfortable and properly taken care of.

You then refused the standard room, and instead of arguing with you or telling you to work with what had been arranged, I upgraded you to a suite at an extra cost without complaining.

We also created a lot of content together to promote the shows and your presence in Uganda. Yet there were times we had to keep asking you to post the content. Instead of treating the trip as a professional business engagement where both sides had responsibilities, your attitude sometimes made it feel like you were doing us a favor simply by being there. And I still tolerated it. I still kept things professional.

On your off day, your manager contacted me asking if I could help with a car because you had several activities planned. I cancelled and rearranged my driver’s plans to make sure you had transportation. Your manager herself also told me you had overslept on another occasion. Even then, I kept calm. I never came out publicly to expose you or embarrass you.

Then there was the performance itself. The agreement was for a 45-minute performance, yet you performed for less than the contracted time. There was also disappointment from part of the Ugandan audience because many of the songs performed were unfamiliar to them. I still protected your name.

I could have told the public what happened. I could have said that your own manager told me you had overslept when you were supposed to be preparing. I chose not to.

And before the show, the agreed payment had been fulfilled. So I genuinely don’t understand the claim that I underpaid you.

Then Kenya happened. When one of the shows became unavailable, I didn’t simply walk away. I went out of my way to find another show so you could still have two performances. When your team missed the flight, I stayed up dealing with the agent and trying to find a solution. I even paid the penalty first after your team agreed it would be reimbursed.

So when you say “I treated you like shit,” I have to ask: which part?

Was it receiving you with two Range Rovers?
Was it moving you from your usual apartment into better accommodation?
Was it upgrading you to a suite when you refused the standard room?
Was it creating content with you and continuously asking you to support the promotion by posting it?
Was it arranging transportation for your activities on your off day?
Was it fulfilling the agreed payment?
Was it protecting your reputation when the performance didn’t meet the contracted 45 minutes?
Was it keeping quiet when your own manager told me you had overslept?
Or was it going to Kenya, dealing with the problems around the shows and flights, and still fighting to make everything work?

I could have exposed a lot. I chose to protect you instead.

I am not claiming everything was perfect. But saying I treated you like shit completely ignores the effort, money, time and respect I put into making your stay and these shows work.

The conversations, contracts, payments and records speak for themselves. I don’t need to insult you. I just need to show the facts.
