Comment savoir si un aliment est ultra-transformé ? 🧐

Voici 2 réflexes simples pour les repérer :

📋 Regarder la longueur de la liste d’ingrédients : si elle s’étend sur plusieurs lignes, c’est souvent un premier signal d’alerte.

🧪 Repérer les marqueurs d’ultra-transformation dans la liste d’ingrédients : il peut s’agir d’ingrédients industriels qu’on ne retrouverait pas dans une cuisine traditionnelle, ou de certains additifs ajoutés pour modifier le goût, la texture ou l’apparence du produit.

Dans les deux cas, la réponse se trouve presque toujours au même endroit : dans la liste d’ingrédients. Alors, pensez à retourner les paquets 😉

C’est la réponse de Régilait aux utilisateurs de Yuka qui lui demandent de retirer le phosphate de sodium et les carraghénanes de son lait concentré non sucré.

Mais là n’est pas la question. Les consommateurs ne demandent pas à Régilait comment contourner le problème. Ils demandent à la marque de le résoudre, en retirant ces additifs de sa recette.

Ce mail illustre un mécanisme encore trop fréquent : plutôt que de remettre en question leurs pratiques, certaines marques renvoient la responsabilité sur les consommateurs et leurs choix individuels.

Au consommateur de lire l’étiquette. Au consommateur d’éviter le produit. Au consommateur d’en acheter un autre.

Non, la responsabilité ne peut pas reposer uniquement sur les consommateurs. Les industriels ont eux aussi un choix à faire : défendre le statu quo ou faire évoluer leurs recettes.
