Here’s an idea, stop giving funding to people nobody has ever heard of, who have zero motion and zero loyalty to $AVAX
This is such a huge slap in the face to people who are actually here creating meaningful culture and engagement
But because they are not building an L1 or don’t chase meaningless KPIs, they are overlooked
Instead they are forced to compete against each other to MAYBE receive 100k in build games
Hot take, but giving 100k to someone like bears and salmon, or smitty, or poly pups would go so much further and would end up being WAY cheaper
But you can’t just give money to someone without them being vetted and proving they deserve it!
My brother in Christ. If you give smitty 100k to build out AvaLore and turn it into a news/culture empire that mfer is not leaving
If you give bears and salmon 100k to build out… well I guess that’s not needed we have build games!
If you give polypups 100k to help dev and incubate up and coming projects on avax that mfer is not leaving
These people have been around for years and genuinely want Avalanche to succeed
Funding people who have been here for a while, have proven their loyalty, and who have motion and good ideas is the highest RoI the foundation/Labs can make
To grow an ecosystem and make it attractive to outsiders you need it to be interesting first. We already have interesting things here on Avalanche, but they’re too small in scope to attract outsiders
Build up the people you already have, and then keep doing it. Poach outside builders, but people who fit this same category. People who are building because they genuinely love it. People like Bold Leonidas before they have mass recognition, who are creating something great and have motion, but not receiving any monetary recognition
The problem with poaching people before is they weren’t actually anything we wanted here on Avalanche. Why give Hyperspace money, when we had joepegs? Why give blackhole money when we have pharaoh? Stop being grifty and retarded and poach people with motion already, but small enough that 100k will make them die hard Avalanche maxis. Finally, someone is recognizing their potential and effort!
Build up people who positively impact the culture, build up people who create unique and fun things to do (even if they don’t immediately make money or need a token), the community will become diehard, and the money will come
This is a stickier way imo to get the same effect as memecoin season had
Then, once you have a solid base, something like memecoin season hits way harder
10 projects funded a quarter is $4m a year
Way cheaper than memecoin season or pushing a coin to $500m mc
Also way more impactful
40 projects that are similar to the cultural impact of AvaLore, but 10x the scope due to funding would make this ecosystem go crazy
TLDR: stop being fucking retarded and support avax maxis who already have motion
one year ago, ket launched with 350-400 avax community members in the presales..
literally mfers who loved or/and hated each others every day throughout the bear market..
back then in my mind ket had one goal.. unifying a fragmented community.
a time where we let any grudges between “clans” go and simply added the mfers who struggled through the bear market with us regardless of past behaviors
and it led to something imo magical
one of the best journey I ever had.
Lots of learning.. 2026 we go harder.
Today is the first Bear Den!
If you were sitting in the judge seat, what baseline questions would every project have to answer before getting backed.

The biggest reason I am bullish $BANDS is because it is perhaps the only community effort (ever?) to attempt to kickstart the $AVAX ecosystem from the bottom up
Historically this role has been taken on by AvaLabs and the Foundation
Pumping millions of dollars into outsider projects that leave at the first sign of resistance
Projects whose founders have zero interest in helping the Avalanche ecosystem succeed and are instead more concerned about sucking the teat of $AVAX rewards dry
Bears and Salmon might therefore be the most consequential project in the history of Avalanche (yes that is a big claim) because it is attempting to generate and fund projects from inside the community, from people who actually care about the ecosystem succeeding
If @bears_salmon does well, then it will not only make $BANDS holders very rich, it will jumpstart a community-run ecosystem on Avalanche that hasn’t been seen since 2021
If there was ever a project for Avalanche (community and AvaLabs) to support it is Bears and Salmon
You've been thinking of $BANDS as a memecoin
"What if it flips $COQ? What if it flips $ARENA?"
You're wrong. Think Bigger.
@bears_salmon is becoming the next @AvalancheFDN
- Publicly giving smaller startup projects a platform to market themselves
- Vetting the best projects from the $AVAX community
- Supercharging community projects with funding and social support
- Amplifying their messages and growing their community / audience
- As a result, increasing onchain activity and attempt to bring over new users to C-Chain
They are our "grass roots" Avalanche incubator. It's literally doing the Foundation's job, down in the weeds with the community and leading the charge.
When $BANDS goes to $100m, the ecosystem fixes itself.
Always building. Always cooking.
What you’re seeing now isn’t the end, it’s the warm-up.
Behind the scenes we’re stacking, supporting, and quietly setting up what’s next.
More tools. More projects. More opportunities for the ecosystem.
If you think this is all there is… you’re already behind.
