UPDATE: The United Nations General Assembly is waiting for the results of the second round of voting for the one open seat for non-permanent member of the powerful UN Security Council's Asia-Pacific group.
The Philippines and Kyrgyzstan are vying for this seat.
The first round of ballots ended up with Kyrgyzstan garnering 105 out of the 190 votes, while the Philippines had 85.
To get elected, either of the countries need to secure two-thirds of the 190 voting members for the Asia-Pacific group, or at least 127 votes. | 📸: UN via @dexcabalzaINQ /PDI
After allowing the cutting of 200+ trees, DENR-NCR just allowed the planting of WRONG MANGROVE SPECIES!!!
What do they even mean by "proper guidance.... planted in suitable locations"??? Scientists don't recommend planting Rhizophora in the seaward zone!!!
MGA BOBO!!!
Genocide is not just the destruction of human life. It is also the eradication of heritage. If you swim down in that water near the Christian quarter and you see mosaics.
Tyre was one of the most important cities in the ancient world. Israel is, in essence, bombing Rome.
The only acceptable “pro-Palestine” position for Ben is one in which Palestinians lay down their arms and succumb to their total annihilation. Should they lift even a finger against their colonizers, that is simply a step too far.
you know alan cayetano reached final boss levels of evil when sotto, escudero, and zubiri put aside their senate beef and stood side by side cause the situation got THAT bad 😭
‘I AM STILL THE LEGITIMATE, LEGAL, MORAL SENATE PRESIDENT’
Alan Peter Cayetano maintains that he’s still the “legitimate, legal, moral Senate President” as he holds a Facebook Live on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
“I am still the legitimate, legal, moral Senate President,” he said.
He also invites supporters to hold a prayer vigil at the Senate tomorrow.

With a vote of 263-8-7, the House of Representatives penalized Quezon City 4th District Rep. Jesus “Bong” Suntay by directing him to render voluntary community service, undergo a gender sensitivity seminar, and issue a public apology to actress Anne Curtis and all women.
Suntay was also slapped with a disciplinary action of reprimand after the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges found him guilty of disorderly behavior due to “improper statements” on Anne Curtis during a House justice committee hearing. | via @agathamgregorio
If my understanding is correct:
Ousting a senate president: a majority of the quorum
Electing a senate president: a majority of all Senate members (absolute majority)
Not accurate. Sen Cayetano is no longer SP. With 12 senators present, a quorum was declared out of the base number of 22 since Sens de la Rosa and Estrada are outside the “coercive power” of the Senate (Avelino v Cuenco. GR No 2821).
Hence, we voted to declare all positions vacant, although we could not yet elect a new SP because we lacked the 13 votes required under the Constitution.
Fun fact: this is basically how the end credits were done in Max Payne.
There’s a black area in the final level where the developers placed a texture containing the entire credits, and the camera simply scrolls across it.
hindi siya ang gusto kong mambaliktad kasi isa rin siya sa may plunder cases na dapat kasuhan once mahinog ang evidences pero sige we'll take it. now fucking go back to work!
Mastermind? Sandiganbayan 7th Division denies motion of former House Speaker Martin Romualdez to lift precautionary hold departure order saying he's been "identified as the alleged mastermind behind the flood control scam." @24orasgma@gmanews
Text from Avelino v. Cuenco, 83 Phil. 17 (1949), which the new Senate leadership relies on for the position that their 12 Senators are sufficient to constitute a quorum.

HOUSE EXPELS BARZAGA
BREAKING: The House of Representatives has expelled Cavite 4th District Rep. Kiko Barzaga over gross disorderly behavior and conduct unbecoming of a lawmaker.
Voting 265 in favor, 14 against, and 8 abstentions, the chamber adopted the ethics panel's recommendation to enforce the ultimate penalty.
The committee noted that Barzaga, who had already served two separate 60-day suspensions, showed a pattern of behavior that continuously tarnished the image of the institution, rendering further suspensions useless. | via @mariannenriquez /News5
