@roseboy20_01@danceyrselfdean I think you're looking in the wrong direction. Her first four albums before Masseduction are fantastic and stronger than anything that followed imo.
@DeadbeatUmadol@SaffronOlive That deck was on one level super annoying to play against but on another level those matchups had some of the most interesting games of magic I'd ever played.
@SaffronOlive I don't think there's any reasonable number of bans that would meaningfully slow down the format because of the depth of the card pool. So while it's disappointing on one level, it makes sense as long as there's a general semblance of balance amongst the various too-fast decks.
@nestapendragon If you watch people play with cards with Miracle, then I imagine the same technique would work. You just have to be very deliberate about your draws and not combine with the rest of your hand until you make a decision.
@Burning_Forest@nestapendragon The idea that reprinting these cards broadly tanks their value fundamentally misunderstands the economics of collectibles. Edition scarcity is the main driver of their value. Onslaught fetch originals rebounded just fine from reprints with greater initial supply than older sets.
@Eureka22422_MTG Of course power creep is an issue if you care about the longevity of the game. At a certain point the very mana system starts to fall apart and everything is free. Some is fine, but the rate is out of control when you're trying to make 20 cards from every set eternal playable
@JTSlowik@BarstoolHubbs Low key I think the reason he's so accurate is he always throws under control. And he's a giant dude so he can still get some mustard on it.
One thing I've observed about the 80s in doing some research trying to work up a DJ set... man, so many bands had one song that was just lightning in a bottle and then like a shocking dropoff beyond than that. See: When in Rome, Thompson Twins, the list goes on...
@MaeTcg In limited you often have no 1 drop anyway, so it's basically Rampant plus body. And that body will be especially nice in Witherbloom, which seems to have some easy ways to pump it to a relevant size or sac. Abzan builds can add blink potential, so I'll have an eye out for that.
I would like to play with some of my Magic cards please stop printing 5 bazillion sets and having them somehow all in Standard. Or bring back a block constructed equivalent at least. So many sweet cards will just never be played anywhere it's insane. #mtg#SecretsofStrixhaven
@s0me0neimet Was just talking to some 20-year-olds at a bar recently about how you had to be there when it came out to fully understand how many people wildly misinterpreted this otherwise good movie because Brad Pitt is hot.
@autumnlilypad Interesting perspective. I do think as it was first conceived it was a very fun way to reward digging up obscure old cards. But multiplayer gameplay is inferior and boards too complex for strategy. Yet Magic's rules and strategy are ultimately what make it the greatest ever imo.
Oh has enough time passed since classic rock radio destroyed Comfortably Numb by overplaying it into oblivion for me to enjoy it again? Seems that way.
