I’d say the biggest sign of low intelligence (or stubbornness) is being unable — or unwilling — to adjust your communication style based on who you’re talking to.

Some people treat their default way of speaking as their ‘authentic self’ and see any adaptation as fake. But real skill is using communication as a tool: shifting tone, detail level, or directness to actually connect and get results. It’s pragmatic, not performative.
Refusing to adapt usually says more about rigidity or limited perspective than it does about integrity.
