I just read a post by Senator Ojudu Babafemi about how Ekiti economy has crumbled because EFCC now has a presence in the state.

The reason, because of EFCC, Yahoo boys have fled the state.

So it’s fraud money that’s powering the economy.

And the most shameful part of this is that people from my hometown Ikere Ekiti protested against the EFCC and went to the King palace requesting that he speaks to EFCC Chairman who is also from Ikere Ekiti.

You all can see how morally bankrupt the nation is.

In those days, no one wants to associate with fraud and scam but in our day and time, it’s now being celebrated.

It’s such a shame!

Privilege is such an interesting thing I often find myself thinking about. We do not ask for the life we have, and that is why I'm very mindful of it. You often find it a lot in my writing.

Last week, my cleaner told me on Monday(2 days ago) was her birthday. I asked her what age we are celebrating and she said 33. Epiphany hit me that my agemate is my cleaner. I wore a wry smile as I nodded my head and told her to remind me on Monday so she could get her gift.

I then went to my room to deal with the epiphany of privilege. In another universe, that could easily have been me.

Washing + Engine is 5k which I did today but washing 40 cars a day is not feasible, there are days those guys may not even wash more than 2 cars and on peak days I doubt they’ll wash more than 20 cars, highly unlikely !

No one is under any obligation to be generous to any religion. Every religion must live and die on its own footing, on who its founder was and whether that person makes sense to a human being alive today.

If someone reads the life of Muhammad and finds him to be a pedophile and a rapist, so be it.

You are asking people to embrace his ideals now, in the present. If the man and his ideals cannot survive scrutiny on their own terms, why does anyone owe you generosity? A religion that only survives because society extends it courtesy is not a good religion. It is a religion living on borrowed credibility.

If a man owns a tamed bulldog and a stranger relaxes around it, that relaxation is a gift, not an obligation.

If another stranger says “I don’t trust dogs, they can bite at any time,” what exactly do you say to him? That he is wrong? He is not wrong. He is being honest. The question is whether the dog has earned the trust, not whether strangers owe it.

As a Christian, I believe Jesus lived a perfectly moral life.

The most common charge I hear against him is the temple incident, that he was violent when he drove out the money changers.

And I always say two things. First: do you recognize how high the standard is that this is the only indictment you have against him?

In the entire documented life of this man, the strongest case against his character is that he cleared a marketplace.

And second: the man is either God or a madman. If you already grant him that level of moral standing, you have essentially agreed he is one or the other.

If he is God, it was his house, and he had every right to drive out those who were desecrating it.

Some agree, some do not, and I always say fair enough. But at least remind yourself what you are grappling with. No other human in recorded history has their worst attributed moment be something of this kind.

Muhammad’s record is not comparable.

He slaughtered people. He slept with a child. He raped war captives. He owned slaves.

These are documented facts, including in his own tradition. Anyone who looks at this record and concludes the man was evil is not being rude. They are being accurate. That is a 100% legitimate moral judgment. No amount of courtesy culture should require them to pretend otherwise.
