Cristiano Ronaldo saw the message of the Venezuelan boy who lost everything after the earthquake and he took action ❤️🩹🙏🏼
In addition to sending him words of encouragement, he invited Andrés to meet him: “I want you to attend one of my games!”.
Sending strenght and all best wishes to Andrés 💭

¡FINALMENTE LOGRAMOS RESCATAR A HERNÁN!

In response to the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela, AWMH is granting $100,000 in support through longtime partner @directrelief.
While the full scale of the damage is yet to be determined, the United Nations is reporting that up to 6.8 million Venezuelans may be affected, including those displaced or losing access to electricity and water. More than 68,000 people were reported missing within three days of the disaster, and the official death toll is approaching 2,000.
Direct Relief is preparing medical aid commonly needed after earthquakes, including first-aid supplies, hygiene items for displaced families, medicines used to treat acute injuries, and chronic disease medications for people whose access to routine care may be interrupted.
AWMH’s $100,000 grant will support Direct Relief as the organization continues to respond to requests in the region as they become known.

Van Halen was out on the road opening up for Black Sabbath on their Never Say Die! tour. Night after night, Eddie and Tony forged an incredible bond, staying up until the sunrise talking about guitars. During the UK leg of the tour, Queen's Brian May decided to stop by the show to catch the action, leading to this iconic backstage meetup.

Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons catching up backstage with Iron Maiden's Steve Harris during the massive Monsters of Rock tour back in August 1988. This awesome shot was captured by photographer Ross Halfin.
Way back in 1980, Kiss was one of the biggest arena acts on the planet when they decided to take a young, hungry British band named Iron Maiden out across Europe as their opener. Kiss treated the Maiden guys with total respect and gave them a massive break. Fast forward eight years to the summer of 1988, and the torch had officially been passed. Maiden was actually headlining the legendary Monsters of Rock festival circuit, and Kiss was sharing the bill with them.
Did anyone out there happen to catch the Monsters of Rock tour live back in '88? Let us know in the comments! 👇️🎸
Primero Dios, lograremos rescatarla 🇸🇻🇻🇪

❤️ Morning.
I wanted to say a thank you to William Contreras for the vulnerability and willingness he showed in our interviews yesterday.
Before the game, it was heart wrenching to see him in tears & agony, grieving with his friends & family back home.
His heart was heavy.
He didn’t have to share any of that publicly, but he chose to use his platform to speak for his country and for the people he loves.
After the game, despite everything he was carrying emotionally, he gathered himself enough to offer more words to the Venezuelan people. I’m eternally grateful he trusted us with those moments.
Working in baseball has given me the privilege of getting to know so many Venezuelans over the years. They are some of the kindest, most welcoming, and most generous people I’ve ever met.
In fact, they’re the reason I started learning Spanish in the first place.
When I think about the devastation they’re experiencing right now, I don’t think of headlines, I think of beautiful hearts & souls.
Thank you, William and Jackson, for sharing your hearts with all of us yesterday. We’re praying for Venezuela, and for every family grieving and searching for hope in the aftermath of this tragedy.
I hope & pray we never become so consumed by our own lives in our own country, that we stop seeing the suffering of others.
If you’re able, take a moment to learn what’s happening, pray, and consider helping however you can. ❤️
