Goodbye, Jonathan Sheppard, who died Sunday at age 82.
Jonathan was brilliant, sharp-witted, thoughtful, hilarious, with a vast world of experience and thirst for more knowledge.
I cannot imagine a more interesting person, or better horseman, than Jonathan.
A profound loss.
More from Block Island.
It’s a somber time here with many folks crying.
I’m boarding the 10 am and people look concerned and sad.
These firefighters are working nonstop.
Art Collector was a REALLY cool horse, and a REALLY good one too. Laminitis is an awful thing, it’s a trainers biggest nightmare. RIP to a bloody good horse and love to all in the Mott and Drury barns who adored him
Breed a sounder racehorse.
End 2yo breeze sales.
Cap the number of mares a stallion can be bred to.
Cap the number of horses a single barn can train.
Ban race day medications.
Lengthen the time between pain medication injections and when a horse can race again.
This allergy season is kicking my ass and has me missing living in the south where nothing I was allergic to died and pollinated like everything does up here
