Ozzy Osbourne Album Ranking from Worst to Best
#2: Blizzard of Ozz (1980)
It’s really hard to deny that this is one of the GREATEST comeback albums of all time! Or at least, I see it that way. After departing from Black Sabbath (and being in the state he was in at this time) Ozzy could’ve EASLIY just disappeared into the void, but no. A GREAT band was assembled around him, including perhaps the GREATEST unknown talent discovery in Rock HISTORY in Randy Rhoads, and Ozzy rose from the ashes and unleashed to the world an IMMENSE debut! To me, this is the most RAW Ozzy and his band EVER sounded! There’s hardly any frills or fucking around here! Every song is just BONE CRUNCHING Heavy Metal (besides the ballads😂) and this is ARGUABLY the peak of songwriting in Ozzy’s career, thanks to Rhoads and Bob Daisley😂
I WISH I was a fly on the wall to ANYONE who heard Rhoads’ for the first time on ‘I Don’t Know’. There was hardly ANYTHING that heavy in 1980! That song must’ve blown peoples minds! I never seek out to ‘Crazy Train’ anymore. I’ll never deny its impact and place in Rock history. And it bolsters the track list of this album HEAVILY. But I’m just done with it, man😂 Goodbye To Romance’ may perhaps by Ozzy’s BEST ballad! It’s him at his more vulnerable, his more heartfelt and there are no heavy guitars in it. It’s all heart and emotion and I LOVE it! Is there ANY better one/two punch in Heavy Metal than Suicide Solution into Mr. Crowley? I’d be hard pressed to find many that are much better! I personally love them so much because they are the songs that sound the most like Sabbath to me. Not saying that as a detriment, it’s just Ozzy in his absolute element! ‘No Bone Movies’ is a really fun ripper! ‘Revolation (Mother Earth) is an underrated ballad and is one of Ozzy’s best vocal performances EVER! Steal Away (The Night) might actually be my FAVORITE song on the album! MY GAWD that riff FUCKIN SHREDS!
It’s Blizzard Of Ozz…what else needs to be said?!😂 This is one of those albums that’ll have legendary status forever and it ABSOLUTELY deserves it! But there’s one album that’s just a little bit better in my opinion…

As the 9th track on AXIS: BOLD AS LOVE, "Castles Made Of Sand" was recorded on October 5, 1967 during a lengthy session at Olympic Studios. After more than a dozen failed attempts, Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Kramer made some gear adjustments before recording a few examples for review. With the full band reconvened, the 18th take resulted in the album's master recording. #CastlesMadeOfSand #JimiHendrix #AxisBoldAsLove
