A couple of pieces on #Greece this month: Ahead of the release of Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' this summer, I spoke to Corfu-based location scout, Carolina Samoli, for @wizzair#corfu@odysseymovie
won an award! 24 hours in Lima.. so not my usual back yard! Thanks @TVGlobetrotter for publishing it and @InspireGlobal_ and judges for choosing it! The fact that is was a blind judging makes it even more rewarding…: #peru@VisitPeru

Tony Blair has warned that some "progressive" politicians are failing to tackle left-wing antisemitism because they are unwilling to confront what he called an “unholy alliance” with hardline Islamist groups. https://t.co/qTV1TtmY49
@BBCNews Being a journalist and outdoor sports/ski writer I do find this all a bit dubious. There are avalanche deaths every year you’re just now reporting on it more regularly .
Avalanche deaths are tragic and deserve serious discussion. But framing off-piste skiing as a “middle-class folly” driven by social media ignores the long tradition of Alpine mountaineering and the many skiers who approach the mountains with training and respect.
An avalanche in the French Alps claimed the lives of two skiers this week. In total, 30 skiers have lost their lives in one of the most deadly Alpine winters in memory.
Like the majority of victims this season in France, the skiers had ignored avalanche warnings and ventured off-piste.
